those hard to reach places convinced me not to bother re painting just buy a fresh kit lol.. suppose this means i've more money than sense lol.
r e the dental pic does that not leave scratches on the plastic, i used wooden toothpics

I'm poor (well not really, I have limited pocket money from the missus), so badly painted stuff on ebay (advertised as 'pro-painted' or not) is relatively cheap!

Mostly used the pics of metal, suede brush is useful for a post strip buff (of metal, not plastic). Most of the work is done with a toothbrush.

I use Fairy Power spray. Chuck in all metals and plastics leave 30 mins and get to work with a toothbrush. For the minis that have been varnished just leave for 24hrs. This stuff even helps get rid of glue.

Ideal if you dont like the way a mini has come out and want to start again

Well, i am not from UK, but i found out, that maybe i can get some Dettol at a apothecary. The Fairy Power spary could be a toughter one.

I am new to all this stuff. Better said, i still think about beginning with miniatures painting. But i play a lot of DnD with WOTCs DnD minis. Some of them are decent paint for game use, but some are really scary, so i thought to begin and train with them. First i need to remove the old paint. Will the DnD minis plastic survive this methods as well? And is this:

the right kind of Dettol to use?

Thanks.

Hi Heniosha, did you try any of your 3 tests after only an hour long dip? Until it runs out I'll keep on using my squirty bottle of Fairy Power Spray which I've found good for loosening GW acrylic well enough after an hour to be able to quickly toothbrush it off. Works for me as I can get painting the same day, anything I fancy painting that has to be soaked for 48 hours you can guarantee I'll have lost interest in by time it's clean :D I should note that all of my figures have had brush on paint undercoats, no sprays or primers which I imagine may be more stubborn? Cheers, B.
no I didn't. I figured the longer I leave them, the less 'scrubbing' Id need to do (incredibly lazy).
The last batch I did Ive just left overnight, same result - came off like a dream..i'll try fairy next though, because Dettol doesnt half stink!

I'm an ex-pat Brit living in Germany, and I ended up ordering Fairy Power spray from the British Corner Shop website when we did a group order at work. And now you tell me I can find it as Dawn Power Dissolver? If I can find it, I'll test it. Once I tried something that someone told me was the local equivalent of Dettol, and it was hopeless at removing paint. It's fairly good at its designed purpose of cleaning floors, though, so not all was lost.
