Hi, I\'m building a portfolio of things I can sculpt so I\'m doing this GW-Like Chaos Lord (maybe I will be tempted to start a new army)

I would love to have some feedback, specially on what you\'ll like to see as weapons/arms...

Thanks.

Very nice start. Looking very nurgley.

For one arm I think you should have a very nurgle-like sword. Best if you make that your self.

Cant wait to see more progress.....stu.....

i like the body and i feel it works pretty well. however the head seems a bit unfinished and needs more defintion. keep up the good work.

Really love the beast-like legs, nice touch. I\'d concur that he needs a dirty big sword. Probably something REALLY big, almost to the point of being out of proportion... and rusty too.

Really nice so far though.

I have to agree with Uberdark, the body looks great but the head is looking a little blah. I think what looks off to be is that there is no definition between his face (IE the mask area) and the rest of his head. If he\'s wearing just a mask, it should be raised out from head/face area to a line/point above the brow, close to where the hairline is. In addition straps from above the eyes, at the eye line, and from the corners of the jaw to a spot where they all come together at the back of the head roughly between the \'soft spot\' and the base of the neck. I would suggest seeing if you can google pictures of the M40 or M17 (if memory serves) protective masks without the hood to get a better idea of what I\'m babbling about.
If the mask is a hard mask, maybe some piping off the back to a tank someplace. I thinking something along the lines of the Marine helmets in \"Space. Above and Beyond\". Not sure if the hood (cloth) would be the way to go. As the shape, and this is my thinking, would devalue the work that you\'ve put into this mini so far.
As for weapons. Big sword. Oh yes. two handed cleaver maybe. Some hands and other fetishes hanging off the hilt?
This of course is all my two coppers, and who knows maybe will help with an idea or two. This is other one of those threads that I\'m going to have to keep an eye on. oh goodness... lollollol

I like the collar you\'ve added. I agree about the sword, particularly if it looked something like the one the FW Great Unclean One has.

Two more pics... I\'m not convinced on the sword... so I\'m currently thinking in two possibilities... a huge nurglish Butcher knife the size of a sword... something like this:

butcher_knife.jpg

or a screaming souls-demon sword...

so what people thinks?

It seems the problem with the head is that I see it as a \"helmet\" rather than a soft mask, so I added something characteristic from a Space Marine helmet... I\'m not totally convinced with it either, so I\'m accepting suggestions... maybe it will grow on me (like a nurgle fungus) and I will not change it, but I think I will add some tubes and cables... but I don\'t know where they should go (I know the will start on the helmet, but leading to where?)....

I\'m trying to build the idea this is one is \"modern\" marine rather than a Death Guard marine in old MKIII-MMKIV armour.

I\'m using GF9 \"Grey Stuff\" to my understanding is the same as Procreate.

I will post some of my other projects in the future :D

I guess my advices are the same than many pro-sculptars put on their blogs and such... patience...

It\'s easier to work when you do the proper layers...

For example I do the wire armature and then cover it with putty... those are the bones. I put the sculpture under my desktop lamp, go and fetch some tea and when I\'m back the putty should be dried thanks to the heat of the lamp. Then I do muscles... then I do armour or skin... that way of working keeps reminding me the proportions of the miniature.

I use water on my fingers to avoid getting my finger prints marked when I\'m smoothing a surface with my fingers...

But I guess it\'s more a thing of waiting until the putty is dried and then poke it with something just to be sure :p

some very nice sculpted work SD, the chest is quite nice, the beast legs are a very good touch, technique wise it looks quite neat tidy and sharp

now, their are a few places that could do with some work, for me he doesnt seem to have a pelvis or waist. Theirs no recognizable pubis or arse region. Now GW marines have the same flaw, but when u widen the position of the legs like uv done it really shows. id say take down the loin cloths and build those areas up, u might even want to think about elevating the torso up a few mm so it isnt sitting so low. Also you need to add joint seals at the back of the knee and where the pelvis meets the top of his thighs, at the moment their empty.

As for weapons, mace/flail/club are always good for nurgle, allan c\'s gallery has a variety of nurgle weapons, a hooked sword is an idea id \'borrow\' from his work.
also his left foot seems to be slightly smaller than his right foot and as was said before the head lacks definition, he needs a forehead, eye brow ridge and cheek bones

hope this helps

So I went for a \"butcher knife\" sword in the end... I sort of like it, but I will give it more nurglish things, otherwise it\'s just a choppa.
