Well, an update for this rather unsuccessful for long is here. Been a long time waiting, but here is the latest WIP pics of the Troll Forged Orc:

(I\'m not keen on the plates over his groin)

(That shoulder piece is my favourite attempt at metallics ever, save for the gold belt buckle, which I adore!)

How do we like the fur pelt (the rest of the fur isn\'t done yet)?

This is an older pic which shows off the skin and straps a bit better. Note that the fur and the leg were rebased, and the metal has been highlighted, demonstrated in the previous two pics:

Troll - I experimented with coloured shadows (inspired by Seb Archer again), particularly by using red. The lower half isn\'t shaded, that\'s just a basecoat, but the rest is based and washed. I have no idea why the first picture is sooooo much better than any other photo I\'ve ever taken. They were all taken in the same place, at the same time, with the same lamp arrangment!

So, what are people thinking?

I think your getting a lot better but you need something to get less fuzz in your pictures. Are you holding the camera or a tripod? Also a white background would help your picture color as well. Some white sheet of paper curved up onto a box even will create a gradiation and make the pictures a little easier to see.

The troll looks great, you picked my favorite head. You also got the chain to pop out fantastic. Orc looks much better in those last 2 shots. When they are done I\'ll throw them up on my site.

EDIT: Ignore the background comment, I\'m stupid and thought some of the old pictures were also new additions. DOH! :drunk:

Thanks Darklord, means alot when comments come from highly rated painters. That doesn\'t mean I don\'t not like hearing from anyone else though, so get your constructiv critisms in quick, even if you don\'t like the style/me/minis/living .

That head is my favourite too, so I\'m quite lucky that was the one you gave me 2 of I think it suited the Chaos Troll look I\'m going for. I\'m going to add a chaos star rune to the chest after the pics for the site have been taken. Have to see how I go with the stomach, I\'m thinking more of a fleshy, bonish, off-white colour blended over the top of that bluish grey. What do you think?

Oh, and can anyone suggest a good grey grey, that isn\'t bluish, that will sit well next to GW colours?
