Music while painting

Just 'discovered' (*) Melody Gardot, an easy listening/Jazz voice.
Kinda Nina Simone smokey and somewhat sensuous.

(* Discovered as in found a stack of MP3 files someone had dumped on one of our servers. She was amongst them. Of course one has to keep these as "evidence" of malfeasance.)

while doing anything productive, i prefer listening to old timey music or jazz. i dunno why, but it really gets the juices flowing :)

Stan Rogers and The Civil Wars among others. I love folky music while painting, something I can sing along to while painting.

Usually a film soundtrack appropriate to the theme of the work I'm doing. i recently have been listening to some Karen Souza stuff.

Personally I really like listening to some Frank Sinatra, it helps calm me down, keep my hands steady, blood pressure low. I highly recommend it to anyone while painting.

Definitely a 'Different Strokes" moment here. 'Old Blues Eyes' doesn't do anything for me but activate the "Off button" reflex.

Welcome aboard anyhow.

Almost Perftec! Aw, crap.
I'm always shocked to hear people just listen to production music. I use it for my job everyday, but it never really struck me as listening music. I guess it just depends on the context you are hearing it in ;)

Try it, you may be surprised.

I've 'Two steps from Hell, Futureworld music, Audiomachine' and someone else on a USB pen drive plugged in my car that's almost 2Gb of music for when I'm driving to work. Better than the radio.

Two steps from Hell, album SKYWORLD, track WINTERSPELL........definitely a day brightener for me.

It just feels too much like bringing the office home with me. Every track is tied to a promo in my head. Though NERO is one of my go to collections for great trailer music.

Everything I listen normally, I also listen while painting. So that ranges from Tool, KoRn, Maybeshewill, Mogwai, Queens of the Stone Age, to stuff like Arcade Fire, Feed Me, Deadmau5, The National, Pendulum, Placebo. Too much to sum up honestly and the library is getting around 500 MB bigger everyday :p

Ha! I used the dubstep version from Burn for an Arrow/Tomorrow People combo about 3 weeks ago. See? Linked to work -_-

Thanks for Winterspell, Mike.
Just dropped some coin for 3 albums by TSFH on ITunes.
