Hey guys. Long time no see. Ive been busy with school and home renovations, and have not had alot of time to hang out and sculpt latley....

but I did manage to make this guy...

http://www.coolminiornot.com/115732

Meet Mort. He was fun to create, and now I am selling this one-off to see how he does. I see guys like Scibor making these great one-off miniatures, and I want to give it a shot too!

It is much more heartbreaking to create a single miniature to sell, but I guess thats the name of the game. Lemme know what you think of Mortie, and please feel free to contribute your opinions.

Its nice to be back and submitting again, even if it is just a single miniature. I hope you are all doing great with your lives and families. Take care.

Looks really good! The joint of the wings to the back is a bit plain IMO, could have used some more scales and stuff to match the texture of the plastic wings. Minor details tho, I really like the model. Especially the helmet.

@Ogrebane: I think those are the plastic dragon wings (just read the description on the page, yes they are :)).

Good job, I quite like it. I have to agree with Jericho about the wings though, but its still a great scuplt.

Thanks for the comments. Yeah, the gap in the wings is a little bare, but when you got the miniature in front of you it is quite seamless. I could put a lil texture there to match the wings tho. Thanks for the tip!

How are you selling this piece, Sophia? Auction or private sale?

No chance on you making casting of it, is there?

Hey, Ill drop you a line soon. Hope everything is going great.

Well marineboy, this is being sold right now actually, and you can find it here : http://cgi.ebay.com/Mortarion-Primach-of-the-Death-Guard-Chaos-Nurgle-Lord_W0QQitemZ8775623325QQcategoryZ44118QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

This one is just a one off. GW would be all over me if I cast it. If the winning bidder makes a garage cast to give to friends, I wouldnt mind too much. Mortarion would actually come apart and cast well, because at one poiint I was considering casting him.

I got some new stuff I am more concerned with casting at this point. I will be showcaseing that stuff in about a months time. Thanks for the interest guys, and it is nice to see some familiar faces in the miniature world!

Looking forward to your new stuff, Sophia.

You wouldn\'t happen to have a 2.ed. Lord of Pestilence on hand, would you? Pm me (if you would) if you should have. Thanks!

EDIT: Oops. my email is ultraforge@hotmail.com

You\'re pretty good with that greenstuff there arent ya? lol

So someone clear this up for me, I\'ve been dying to know. Why would someone like you use those plastic wings when you could clearly sculpt something better? I always see these sorts of things, fully sculpted by someone then I see a little plastic space marine foot sticking out from one ankle. Like WTFubar? I can understand some parts, like hands and faces, they\'re annoying and time consuming so it\'d be nice to use a bit if you can find one, but boots, legs, arms, wings etc, I dont understand. Especially for something like this where it could be done better and you should be casting it. :flame:

Sophia, looks like you\'ve been deep-sixed by ebay again -- wonder who\'s behind that? Just got a mail from ebay -- did some bidding about 2 hours ago, so it must have just happened.

What\'s going to happen to this figure now (fishing...) ?

Jerome

BTW, I agree with QuietiManes, you should be casting this.

You should be casting this... were there not the fact that the GW ripper swarms (legal dept.) would be over you as fast as... something very fast. The story of another Nurgle guy springs to mind... sad...

But the mini is absolutely amazing! Love the dessicated appearance, the damaged/rotten armour, the cape... pretty much everything! Great job!

Ugh. What nice news to wake up to. Thos GW legal guys are weiners.

You should read the letter they sent me. It basicly says that I can not profit of the GW properties, yet thousands of other customized and painted GW miniature auctions can. It is such a grey area, they can just pick people off and Ebay has no ability to decide.

At any rate, Ill offer the miniature for the last bid ammount, as thats the nice thing to do. Talk about huge savings. The crappy thing is I got several other miniatures to go.

How can Scibor sell and not me, or the hundreds of other customized miniature makers?! I will never, ever, invest even a single penny into a GW product again. I will also encourage my already jaded friends to do the same. Its an easy sell, as GW gets worse and worse everyday.

\"If you provide good service, the customer will tell 10 people. If you provide bad service they will tell 1000.\"

Anyways, thanks for the support guys. Im gonna take some time off, again. I have to figure out a way to sell these other customs. Maybe I should mail them to Scibor, or someone else, as GW has clearly targeted me.

you shouldn`t be discouraged, Sophia, by those pricks. your stuff is good and definietely worth bidding. my advice is to write (even with capital letters) that it`s a conversion , no challenge to GW status and rights intended in the auction description.
If Scibor and other people can sell their stuff then surely you can as well.
in case you decide that you don`t wish to try auctioning them anymore let me know - i think that some folks from leprechaun studio might be interested in buying them :) .
cheers

Ha! It\'s me that had the last bid on Ebay! Pm me or email me, Sophia, you should have my email address and let\'s get this party started!:D

Sorry about the problems with GW, they are weiners for sure.

And the other minis you\'ve got are....?

Wow, great sculpting there! Dunno if you already did it once but any chance on some tutorials about Nurglish sculpting?:)

Sorry to hear about the GW thingy...

It\'s probably because you cast and sell your own miniatures. To GW, you are no longer a \"hobbyist\" doing conversions but another competitor creating original sculpts.
