Living legend for Alahan?

It seems to be that almost every Confrontation army has a living legend by now. I\'m an Alahan player and I was wondering when my army will get their \'légende vivante\' and what it will be. I know there already is this banner d\'Urland, but I can\'t really believe that this will be the only one. Anyone who has any idea or simply knows what it\'s going to be?

Well, you will have you \'big expensive personality\' one day :D Just have patience! You guys have the standard bearer (which means that you can have an Etat-Major which can command elite troops instead of the standard \'regular standard bearers\' the other armies have)... And you guys already have (heavy) cavalry! And that while they are talking in an example in the Confrontation manual about the \'Knights of the Redemption\' of the Griffons (and you can guess that those will be heavy cavalry too) ;)

So you shouldn\'t be complaing about your living legend banner... And you\'ve also got your Cavalry Etat-Major (for Rag\'Narok), AND high discipline, which means that the Alahans are the \'best commanded\' units and the most courageous ones...

So don\'t complain about not having a 250+ pts \'Living Legend\' for your poor Alahans; they already have all the troops you can wish for (normal troops, shooters, cavalry, magicians, scouts...)

And for Confrontation the Living Legends are \'nice to have\' but not really essential... (remember that Confrontation is normally only played till around 500 points; unless you want to make a \'Personality only slashfest\' ;))

Oh, and I forgot, that the Alchemists of Dirz have 2 living legends; their banner and Razheem (the big guy on the horse...)

So don\'t despair; if you look at the classic Alahan vs. Acheron picture on the Rag\'Narok box I seem to notice 3 \'Alahan Cavalry personalties\' (La Lionne Rousse, Dargar and \'another one\'). Maybe it\'ll be the \'other one\'? And doesn\'t your cavalry have a card somewhere which gives a different bonus according to who uses it? I know it mentions La Lionne Rousse, Dargar, and someone else... That \'someone else\' hasn\'t been released yet, has he?

I didn\'t mean to whine!

Thanks for the reply Carolus,

The third character on the reference card is the banner bearer which has been mentioned before, so there isn\'t really any indication of a living legend for Alahan except for this picture you mentioned in your reply.

I just want to add that I\'m well aware of the strength of my army and it wasn\'t meant as a complaint from my part, I\'m just aching to see what my legend might be. Of course it\'s not necessary for the moment to play with, but I would like to have a cool looking living legend standing on my shelve between my Alahan troops. Personally I\'m hoping it will be some legendary creature, a chimera perhaps?

I just wanted to post this reply to explain that I\'m not one of those people who like to complain all the time, it was more out of curiosity that I posted this topic.

Hey Wevin,

I didn\'t consider it whining, so no need to be upset ;)

I was visiting the Confrontation forums of Rackham themselves earlier and there\'s a heavier discussion going on there about who could be Alahan Living Legend...

And you Alahan boys will probably get some amazing mini of a commander on a horse  So my bet\'s on an Alahan horsey-dude Living Legend....

So yeah, call me jealous because of your amazingly beautiful standard bearer and cavalry minis :D

Carolus, whose living legends consist of a mercenary barbarian, a goblin robot and a griffon assassin...

Hey guys, thanks for posting this info, I\'ve been wondering whether Griffons were going to get cavalry and just who the Living Legends were. I\'m still quite new to Confrontation and your discussions are very helpful in clearing things up.

Cheers, Darkblade

The list of the current Living Legends:

- Acheron/Undead : Le Grand Crane (362+pts)
- Dirz : Razheem l\'Incensé (309+pts)
- Dirz : Oriflamme du Scorpion (Banner)
- Tir-Na-Bor : Tain-Kair, le Poing du Fom-Nur (250+pts)
- Wolfen : Asgargh, Chef du Meute (346+pts)
- Goblins : Golborak (225+pts)
- Alahan : Porte-banniere d\'Urland (banner)
- Griffons : L\'Exécuteur (267+pts)
- Sessairs : Drac Mac Syro (240+pts)

The Sessair Living Legend is a Mercenary, so other people can use him too...

The Devoreurs, Orcs and Mid-Nors are eagerly waiting their Legends ;)

So Darkblade, now you know what Legends are around and which are not...

Living legends

Hi Everyone, Kristof has finally entered the world of Internet and is ready to join the forum.

What I wanted to say is that Living Legends are COOL, you don\'t need them for playing because they\'re quite expensive in points, but they are the showpieces of your army and a source of pride. I know because I have 3 Living Legends. And so I think Rackham should quikly make sure that every army has at least 1 impressive-looking Legend.

Well, one would be a nice start, but before they start going overboard on point-heavy mini\'s, they should have to make sure that all other races have troops and maybe release some elves or the drune clan....

Guess that would add more to the game ATM then an overpowerfull mini that nobody would play because it\'s hardly useable...

I think living legends are only playable in 1000 points confrontation or maybe 1500 ragnarok or something...

Is it me, or is this whole Living Legend thing weird? I mean, Shanys has a much better mini than the Executioner, but yet with her stats she and 2 other Executioners (troops, could that be more confusing?) stand no chance against Cyanhur (I\'m not just saying that becasue he\'s my favorite mini, either.. :) )

And what\'s with the standard bearer of Dirz? They only have one standard bearer in the whole army of Dirz but no one knows his name?

Anyway, my predictions for Living Legend of Mid-Nor: Yh-Kthan. He\'s the one who took Tan-Kair\'s hand, and on the reference car he has Personal Enemy/ Yh-Kthan on it. However, Yh-Kthan would have to be a mage and there\'s a grand shortage of Living Legend Mages. Well, he\'ll be coming out regardless because otherwise that skill would be pointless.

Actually, the Living Legend banner thing is used for Rag\'Narok, which plays a big part in the command rules...

And THE Executioner is a good Living Legend; he\'s not the \'Big Commander\' style of mini, but more the \'boogie man who is going to get you\' kind of mini... So you understand that he will be simply awsome in a heavy cluttered town-terrain than on a big battlefield...

Sure, he\'s real fun to play against

me:\"Ah so The executor charges me\"

Carolus:\"Yup, I charge 45cm\'s\"

Me:\"aha, .......... He runs faster than a Horse?! *sigh* fine, let\'s roll initiative\"

Carolus:\" a \'1\', okay.......\"

Me:\"HA, ECHEC! I get to attack first!\"

Carolus:\"euh, no, because he has vivacite, he doest \"échec\" on a 1 during initiative.\"

Me:\"so................................I rolled \'6\' and then a 4, and my INI is 2. C\'mon you can\'t beat 12 now do you?\"

Carolus: \"His base INI is 12, so I got 13\"

Me:\"aha..........................(picks orc of the table)

The previous mail was entirely invented by Tuubje, as I haven\'t assembled my Executeur yet...

I think he\'s one of the more difficult minis to play with... He cost about 300 points, and that means that he should be able kill 300 points... One on one is no problem, but one one many is a whole other ball game...

That is why I was amazed when Rick the shopkeeper told me he was a bit disappointed in the Executeur; he charged and dispatched two enemies in the first turn, but the second turn he got charged himself and it was byebye 300 points...

But then again, he\'s a \"character killer\", not a \"troop killer\"...

The sneaky tricks Carolus uses is walking around with Fiannas shouting \"come on closer, you are really well armoured and can kill them easily\", and then use a sudden charge with loads of women outnumbering the poor opponent and winning initiative....

Against Tuubje however you can be a wee bit more reckless as you can count on his legendary Echec/Failure-initiative rolling and his \"I shoot in the melee only to roll double-6 on his own troops\"... You gotta love Tuubje for that!

Even so, you just know THAT is how the battle will go.

Yeah pretty much... It\'s like taking killyox in first version. You just know that half your opponent\'s army is gonna flee and then you butcher the other half...

Same thing with the excecutioner I think. With griffon disciple, your opponent would have to have head-rectum contact to screw it up...lol

I was the lucky bum who killed Rick\'s executeur. And although I was a bit lucky, there still were some significant weaknesses discernible.

The \'executeur\' may very well be a killing machine, but if you manage to outnumber him ( as carolus already mentioned before ) he goes down pretty easily. I remember he has a pretty good defence skill, but a somewhat low resistance, so you simply have to be prepared to make sacrifices and put everything in attack as I did. He could strike first and slayed some of my regular troops, but the few that survived his attacks managed to get a 4 on their attack roll and hit him a couple of times on the head and torso and it was \'bye, bye executeur\'.

Afterwards it\'s easy to say what Rick could have done different. However at the moment he played exactly as he should have done, the result wasn\'t what he had hoped for, but that\'s what makes \'confrontation\' such a great game, everything is possible.

Yes of course, but you cannot take bad luck into account I think bacause those are (hopefully for you) rare occasions.

Having a living legend on your side makes things easier IMO... :)
