In general, I think for me, the most inspirational work right now comes from (in no particular order):

Nano
Yellow One
Vincenti
Banshee

Pretty much anything in their galleries, lol

Agreed. Plus the French lads, Allan C, Bragon and Cyril.

What sets these lot apart is not just their painting, but the conversions/scratchbuilds they do. All round miniaturists, multi-talented, not just with a brush!

And on that note, Alexi_Z has just posted a SpaceMarine thats a conversion, so she\'s raised her game.

Ditto :D Plus: Albert Moretó Font, David Rodriguez, all the rest of Spanish Team. Iago really inspired me not so much because of the models but because of how he won the Slayer one year after YB. The guy is a genius! Jakob Nielsen I will also add, and Mark Tait. Oh, and poupee canoupe and Silphid. There are many more but I can\'t think of them all off the top of my head.

I\'ll stick with my list. For me there is a difference between those that inspire me and those that I recognize as top quality work. Not every top piece, while amazing to look at, inspires me and gets me thinking about my own painting and how to improve. Probably if I were to add another name to my list of those that inspired me, it would be Arkaal, who is a big influence on me in terms of both nmm and bold highlights/contrasts.

Poupee Canoupe or whatever his name is still has me holding a torch so to speak. The best I\'ve seen for sheer understated genius.

I can appreciate the technical skill of all the stuff above but to me painting models is about painting gaming pieces, that are gonna look great from a distance as well as 2 inches in front of your nose. I love gaming pieces, no need for all this local lighting and nmm!

I take inspiration from the eavy metal style. Bright contrast colours and crisp, smooth painting. GW artwork, and random stuff from history/literature are good too (Karl Kopinski and some John Blanche).

Cheers!
