Thanks, BAM and KB, I appreciate the comments.

In the last month, I quit my job, moved one thousand miles from the Midwest to Albuquerque, New Mexico (which is the furthest west I've ever been), and posted 0 times. The plan right now is that I'll take a year off from work and devote my energy to writing, painting, and large libraries of sadly neglected books and video games. I'm pretty excited. In the meantime, though, we've moved into an apartment with different lighting needs and yellow walls, so my pictures are coming out a little off. Anyway, here's the progress on my Saracen Lasiq:

And here are a bunch of my minis packed up for the move:

And here's the Island of Blood griffon, all armored up for moving. I had to put more effort into protecting this thing than any other mini, which I understand is basically how they operate on the battlefield as well. Low toughness in both worlds.

See you all again soon. I've been working on a tree for the diorama that I think is about ready for some pictures.

Thanks BAM! It's a pretty exciting time.

What's up, CMON? Good to see you all again. As mentioned above, I have recently joined the ranks of the voluntarily unemployed, with the hope that I would have more time for painting and writing. So far, I've mostly had time for binge watching TV and eating ice cream for breakfast at 11 am. Well, I've made a schedule that I hope will lead to a bit more productivity. Anyway, here's the progress on the diorama, which now has a mostly completed tree. Next up: painting the two minis and adding in ground cover.

I've also started working on this little dragon. It's a Bones model, so the detail's a little soft, the mould lines were (and in some cases, still are) pretty gnarly, and the wings are so weak that they move a tiny bit when I paint them. Still though, it was $2.78 (US) on sale, so what's not to love? Still working on the scales on its front side, and the face and wings are very WIP, but I'm quite pleased with the scales on it's back side (the first picture)

Hey all, thanks for the views and comments and whatnot. Here's an update on the diorama. I'm very close to done with the whole thing, so I'll post some more nicely framed pictures soon (you know, ones where you can't see all the way into my bathroom). Mostly just finishing touches left: a few highlights here and there, some more foliage, both minis need their other arms glued on, etc. [Okay, unable to add attachments right now, will update post with picture as soon as I can]

Aww, you're gonna make me blush. Looks like my computer's not going to let me insert the image inline, but it's working as a regular attachment, so here you go. Due to the lack of a good background, you can also check out some of the miscellaneous miniatures on my desk, the top portion of our DVD collection, and the bible/hymnal section of our book collection. I'll be back soon with the finished diorama and a djinn from Hell Dorado.

Alright, here's a genie and my latest exploration into painting fire effects. Mostly just need to clean up the blending on the flames, then this one is done.

Howdy, folks! You know what I find is the most effective method to procrastinate on a project? Start, like, eight more projects! So, here's a bunch of new stuff, as well as a diorama that's still not quite finished.

First up, the diorama. We've got a bit more foliage, the combatants have their full complement of limbs, and just a few more things left to paint:

Next, here are 6 display bases for a variety of Infinity models. I wanted to work on creating disparate environments and telling a bit of a story in a small space. Still a good bit of work to do on all of them, especially painting the actual minis.

Here, we've got one more Infinity base on the right. This is maybe my favorite of the bunch, but since it's all still primer, none of the detail shows up very well. On the left, I've got something that'll be a bit more whimsical. The plan is to have a Malifaux mini running on lily pads through a pool of toxic sludge. The base is a piece of mesquite that I picked up for a few bucks shaped with a router, which was super fun.

Now this just happened in the last few days. Another diorama, the idea is a wizard finds a magical marble thing (I might opt for a smaller marble, as I feel like the current one is throwing off the scale a bit) in a ruined tower and is starting to draw on its power. Another model (to be revealed later) will be vaulting the ruined wall to stop him. The base here is a piece of ash; I'm really excited about how the grain will look once it all gets sanded and oiled.

I don't really care for much of the new AoS stuff, so I thought some Stormcast Eternals would be a good way to practice some metal effects without obsessing too much over every detail and letting the project go on for way too long. They have been great for practicing metal, but I have not been able to keep from obsessing. There's mostly just small details left, though, so they'll be done someday.

And finally, done save for their eyes and a few OSL touch-ups, some Efrit warriors from Hell Dorado. Not super crazy about the female's pose (game rules list their gender as asexual, so the fact that she's tossing her fire-hair and highlighting her feminine attributes seems odd) but overall I really love the vibe of these minis.

Alright, thanks for looking, hopefully I'll have more to post soon.

Hey CMONsters! It's been forever since I've posted anything, but I just finished my round 1 entry for Wyrd's Iron Painter tournament and wanted to share it here as well. The theme was OSL, which is something I've only done in a limited way before. Also my first time doing NMM, and I'm very pleased with how the halberd came out. Not perfect, but better than I had thought.

Hello again, CMONsters. Here's a sloppy WIP of Archaon. It's going to be tough to photograph him once he's ready for glamor shots; he's a real big boy.

Welcome back! Jay... that's a massive sculpt indeed. You did a nice start.

Taking a look at your older posts makes me ask you: Did you finish the wizard dio? That one is really looking nice.

Thanks, Graishak! The wizard diorama looks exactly the same as it did several years ago, unfortunately, but some day... Hopefully... Eventually...
