Thanks again guys :) I have added more huge pics to the top. The beavers are my facourite part now :D and you can just see the tiny white dot in his pupil, look very closely... :D

Bea - ver Patrol!!!!!

Very impressive, and obviously more so considering your age! Nice one; the only way is up!!

The figure itself is great.
The base, though cool, needs extra work to really make it a standout piece. The snow looks much more like hoare frost to me. The flock doesn\'t really work, it\'s just too out of scale. As said, baking soad, with either ground glass or \"microballoons\" added help give a scale sparkly effect. A Historical modeller called Bill Horan has the technique done really well:

oh, and Bill...check your PMs

Really nice, you have a lot of talents!
The only thing odd about this mini is that you have an empty sword holster ???. He propably lost it during a fight! lol
I really like the free hand but the snow on the coat mask it to much IMO.
Despite of that it\'s really a nice mini, congrats!

Well, here he is folks! :D I realise the photos are not great (jungle background on a snow base), but I hope you can see him. I plan to enter him for Youngbloods this year, and also pastor\'s competition.
Many thanks to my good friend Iain for letting me use his camera :) Anyway, about the mini... After many hours of drilling, I swapped his piddly little sword for a Kislev Halberd (thanks Mark, thanks also for help with the colour scheme). I kept with the original GW colour scheme, but faded it by adding lots of greys, to look bleached and worn by years of hard Northern weather. I added red tones to his face and skin to make him look ruddy in the cold, and there are no golds-all the metals are silver only :) I attempted some limited, subtle freehand and am quite pelased with how that came out. I kept the colour scheme as simple as possible, and the browns tonally similar: the leaves on the base (thanks Rune and Albert) have branches the same colour as the shaft of his halberd, the bow on his back, his boots and the beavers.
Yes. Beavers. I hope you like them, they are all sculpted. Castor is the Romance language version of beaver, a nice bit of history there :D The base is slate, with real soil and a lot of snow, along with a manky Chaos shield (Kislev are great enemies of Chaos). The blade of the halberd is a tribute to nano of Spanish Team.
I would like to thank some people who have helped along the way: Torstein, Mark, Rune, Albert, Fernando, Banshee, Margo, Hashmallum, mistamick, everybody who has commented on my past minis, and all my friends on wonderful CMON, and all my friends IRL. And of course thanks to pastor for starting this competition, and good luck to all entrants! Thanks again to Iain, sorry to anyone I forgot :)

I hope you like him :)

*Don\'t forget I\'m only 13 :innocent:*

Comments and critique welcomed!

It\'s a great mini considering your age, and it will be a good YB entery. I like the freehand and the face, and pretty much everything else. What I don\'t like is the snow, but that might just be the photos making them look a little wierd. I think this mini have potential to win a statue:D

Cheers

I\'m not a fan of the fuzzy snow either, but damn you can sure paint. Great sense of colors, but even more impressive is the richness you can obtain.

Keep it up Bill!

Great work and considering your age...even better that you have such patience and skill so early on.

My best wishes to you in any competitions you enter, but I\'m sure your next works will be even better. Can\'t wait to see what the little penguin comes up with next :D
