How do you Strip paint off your models?

Yep. Turned one of my old (circa 1990) lead/pewter figures a blackish grey. No harm done to the finish, though, but the color\'s a bit off. The color came back with vigorous wiping, so I figger it\'s some sort of oxidation or other reaction on the outer surface. I don\'t thinkit\'s anything that would affect paint sticking, but it is rather odd to find your miniature a different metal color than what you put it in.

I haven\'t had much luck with the brake fluid I\'ve been using. I soaked a couple of primed, plastic minis (overnight) as a test and the result was less than desirable. There was obvious pitting in the plastic and a fine layer of primer that I could not remove without scraping it with a hobby knife.

Is it the fluid or the soaking period?

Thanks,
Mark
