Any way for start two projects.

It has been w long time, I actually forgot about this that I started this Wip. Any way that's how they end up long time ago (if someone is interested). http://www.coolminiornot.com/382854 http://www.coolminiornot.com/382001. Reason why there was no continuation of this wip thread was as usual with me start painting finish it and forget to take pictures of progress. But like I wrote in one of threads I wanted to have nice painting station (which is done now) so now everything is by my hand even camera so I will try to take pic after every painting session. Recently I'm painting minis for Silver Tower, so some of them will be in this thread. there is the first one. Gaunt Summoner, I'm painting him in pieces, it's just easier for to not have any fragile bits in my way such as his hands.

Colours gonna be very similar to original. I tried to give some fabric lookalike on his robe but I think that need some more work. Rest of his armour will be same colours like them plates by feathers. I will post some more pics after next painting. If someone have some advice or criticism be more than welcome.

I'm not sure am I happy with result till now. When I seen them pics I thing that there is not enough highlight on feathers and not enough shade on armour but I have hope that dark purple used for shade will be seen after painting gold on edges.

I think he's coming along really nicely, there's not much advice I can give but I like it so far :) a very big jump up in skill from the Tyranids at the top of the page

Haha yeah I know. Could say that it took me two years to paint them but there is date on posted pics.

I will post some new pics today probably. Thanks for good words. Still don't feel very confident about my skills. They are getting better but some blends and that shiny paint doing my headache. Its time to switch from from GW paint to some proper matt paints.

I think the blue robes are coming along nicely.

I think it could use 1-2 more highlights and a bit of extra color as it has a nice blend, but a bit sterile.
Solving both:
- add 1 or 2 highlights with the current lightest color + light orange (VMC-Sunny Skintone, basically an off-white with a orange hue in it). It won't change much on the color, but adds a bit of vibration. You may not even need it everywhere, just on the hips or on the robe/armor to separate the two a bit.
- may not be needed, but I'd add a light glaze of violet to the deepest shadows. Again, done correctly, it may not show up on photos, but the extra play with colors look great when looked at. Try it in one fold, if you don't like it, just repaint with the almost black you use now.

Thanks for advice. I will try with that light colour next time knowing me after that I would need to strip that mini. Glazing its still thing what makes me most of problems.
That almost black is black mixed with purple.

More work done not much but slowly getting it done. I tried to make nmm gold on him but big nope. To difficult figure for me for that plus I thing that my paints got too old. Yellow and brown are kind of getting separated medium from pigment. I can shake them for hour and still they take dozens of coats to cover. Same story with golds. So silver and washes. Because of my clumsy shaky hand there will be some touch ups required or black lining not sure yet.

That was quite easy. Just painted robe blue blending high lights and shades, then paint lines with slightly lighter colour from place where they would go. Paint consistency something like wash.

Gaunt Summoner finished. Hope that some of you will like it. Learned few things from it lets hope that I will be able to use new lessons on next mini and make it better. Now when its finished I see what could be done better, but any way I'm quite happy with result. Here is link to him in gallery if someone would like to give vote for him http://www.coolminiornot.com/410744 if not here it is.

Most of his skin is done, I want to work bit more on highlights to show muscle structure. And then all his scars rites those little fancy cuts (name it how ever you want) gonna be in osl. It will be my fifth time when I'm going to do that on him but this time I will do it... I hope.
