i thought tim holly\'s were great. now for the warboss conversion and such i feel like its a close one between tim and todd. the greens on tim\'s orc are beautiful and the colors are reminiscent of old school done beautifully. although at the same time i feel todd swanson did a wonderful job with the subdued tones. The axe is total swanson but i feel the eye on the mask of the boar is detracting from the piece as a whole. good job to all though.

Thanks for linking it, this is really cool to watch several painters attempt the same sprue. I know it\'s not the style (almost completely unblended in parts) that is popular, but Tim\'s looks just great with it. It almost comes off like a cell shaded painting, I love it.

yay i like the competition idea! They could do the same within Europe, or even worldwide hehe but to be honest i like none of the 4 models... all of them look wayyyyy too cartoony for my taste and IMHO some are far lower than the level you would expect from a slayer sword winner. especially that from Tim Holly

Albert your right the figure is pretty cartoony.Its a plastic kit and from what Ive herd they really wern\'t allowed to do anything to it. Plus I dont think they had much time..maybe a months total and with life and full time jobs and such..Its amazing they all got them done. I think the end results are pretty good.
I to think its a neat idea..Ive always wanted to see the Olympics of painting.. to bring together all the big winners over a few years period for one big contest. Now wouldnt that be grand!

Personally i like Todd\'s the best.
As i hear it, there was an issue with the lighting in the convention hall that erked off alot of people. But hey, i wasn\'t there and it\'s all hearsay that i\'m mentioning. besides they all had a short time as Dragon Forge mentioned, to paint them in.

I kind of like the cartoony approach... almost cel shaded. The only thing I would complain about is the back of the flag and the oh so boring base (comparatively.)
I can\'t really decide between Todd\'s and Natalya\'s... if Todd\'s didn\'t have that axe raised up like that he would have been my favorite.
Man, don\'t I feel cool judging slayer sword winners. I\'m going to go look in my gallery now for a little humility. lol
Yes it it true that we only had a little over a month to do the miniature. As far as the rules go we could only use the components on the ORC Warboss sprue (no other bits). We could use green stuff and platic card, but nothing from a toy or mini.

I like Tim and Todd\'s best. I really love the cartoony feel of Tim\'s boar, but Todd\'s technical skill blows me away. The muzzle is amazing, and that axe is sick. The base looks nice too.
If I had to vote for one it would be Tim\'s. Aside from some minor flaws (the back of the banner is a bit plain), the style clinches it for me.
