Flat \"protective\" finish

Okay...

So the consensus is that Testor\'s Dullcote rules as THE matt sealer. But what about the glossy ones, which ones give a \"bullet proof\" finish?

And even more important, has anyone sucessfully aquired Testors in europe?

Thanks,

Do u mean UK or US mail order co\'s? I did get some sent over by a US co (as part of an order) but I cant remember who did it now.

I\'ve also been \'paid\' by US modellers in DullKote for e-bay auctions.

Finally. you should check on bulletin boards, lists who is going to Wonderfest - happening soon. Many UK modellers go over for it and some might be nice enough to bring you back some Dullkote.

Worth a try

I\'m a creature of habit, I do all mine the same regardless of if they are being used or just displayed.

1 cote gloss, followed by two cotes dull, followed by one cote of brushed on gloss for anything that needs the shine like gems and what not.

The best part about doing this is that after a bit of handling mini\'s being used will start to develop a shine when the dull cotes wear off, at which point either I touch up the areas getting the wear with brush on dull, or in the case of large amounts of wear respray the dull cote.

I have been using the GW dull coat foe a while and it the minis look fine at first. But after a while it looks like they\'re dusty. Is that just me or does that happen to everybody???

That happens with all my really old stuff, but dullcoted, and from before i discovered dullcote and used other brands.....I would guess that it probably just what it looks like-dust. I\'ve tried cleaning a few of mine and it appeared to work pretty well. Once thing you can do is get one of those air-blowing cans that are in computer, photo and sewing departements/stores. Just make sure you\'re flock and other base-materials are well-attatched before using! :duh:
