base is 3 tiers of quarter inch cork board with some of the scraps from making the edges jagged used to make the surface all rocky, then a lil medium ballast a touch of small ballast, base in a dark mustard color (RMS chesnut gold) with dry brushes on up thru the triad, along with washes with brown liner, spots of muddy brown, and shadowed bone. then basically crushed (beat to snot with a hammer) 2 oil pastel chalk sticks, yellow an brown mixed the dust then wetted down the whole base in water and dumped alot o dust on it, tap off extra and walla. Hopefully I can hit it with spray sealer from a distance give it some permanence.
I really ended up bein quite happy with this guy probally one of my best minis, and go figure I had to get it right on the one army I make fun of the most lol damn murphy and his law.
