Well Here\'s my Eldar Warlock all done and on his imitation Mars like base. So what ya\'ll think?

oh an DR I tried those freehand flowers and they turned out alright for a first try but damn they made this guy look like he was ready to head up the pride parade if ya know what I mean lol just too fruity so I nixed em.

base is 3 tiers of quarter inch cork board with some of the scraps from making the edges jagged used to make the surface all rocky, then a lil medium ballast a touch of small ballast, base in a dark mustard color (RMS chesnut gold) with dry brushes on up thru the triad, along with washes with brown liner, spots of muddy brown, and shadowed bone. then basically crushed (beat to snot with a hammer) 2 oil pastel chalk sticks, yellow an brown mixed the dust then wetted down the whole base in water and dumped alot o dust on it, tap off extra and walla. Hopefully I can hit it with spray sealer from a distance give it some permanence.
I really ended up bein quite happy with this guy probally one of my best minis, and go figure I had to get it right on the one army I make fun of the most lol damn murphy and his law.

while the base may be a bit big for play, DANG! it looks good.
no yellow but the gems fit with the overall color palette that you chose for it.
the base is a little less red for my tastes for mars, but who knows what happened over 38,000 years.
will this prompt an entire army?

I don\'t play just paint so not too worried bout base size. The mars things was mainly trying to get a dusty feel devoid of life. As for an army I doubt it but I do have some old howling banshees, an old Eldar Dread, a couple of those mini lookin dread guys, and I think Jain Zare (sp?) the Silent Death which is a really nice lookin mini. So as I get inspired I may do em all up in similiar colors and work em into a nice lil display but thats alot of painting so don\'t hold your breath lol lol and the damn yellow gems were a pain ended up lookin like candy corn so I thru in the towel and went blue lol
