Electromancer tidies his work desk, a sculpting/scratchbuilding log

Hello, this will proberly be one of the most random and fun logs in the history of the internet....then again it will just as likely be a steaming pile of squig extrement, but then at least i will have a bit of room to start some new projects :D

Anyway a little back story. I took a couple of years break from the hobby then came back and ended up browsing the internet and looking at everyones amazing work, getting inspired to start something, doing a bit of work and then going on to something else. After a few years of this i now have dozens of bits and pieces of dozens of different models :/

So i decided to conquer my insane fear of posting on your esteemed forum and log my work for all to see, hopefully this will get me used to actually finishing something and improve my skills as the feedback will be helpful.

Anyway enough waffling and onto some pics, now i havent really set up a proper photography area so excuse the amaturish pics but better ones will follow as the log moves ahead like some kind of medieval steam engine hell bent on the annhilation of some remote country or small moon.

First up is a great unclean one i had, now this is sort of my tension release piece as i enjoy sculpting deamons of decay and it doesnt take much effort, i had the basic armature in place for about 3-4 months so most of this isn't too old.

These are the two heads i started, i will most likely use the one on the right, the left one only needs a little work to be finished but i didn't really like how it turned out.

Thanks for looking especially if you read all that nonsense

thanks for all your messages, thats the sort of thing that will keep me going :D

So i worked some more on the head and hope you agree it looks better than the other one

Well i hope you like it more cause i already added it to the body :)
Also did some work on the sword and arm, lower stomach, feet and detail all over the place.

Oh yes Electromancer, that looks suitably disgusting even without paint on it. Nice job :good:

Cheers, B.

Heh. I love it when a model is considered complete by how disgusting it looks. "Yup. That is so disgusting that flowers uproot themselves and run away in an attempt to avoid it. Good job."

Kinda the same with orks: "It looks like you reached in your bitz box and slapped together a whole bunch of random crap and then sloshed some paint over it.

...Nice job."

Can't wait to see this guy painted up.

Hi its me again, hope you aren't getting bored already :p Thanks for the feedback guys.

Prophecy07: thats a good way to put things lol, unfortunatly wont be painting anything for some time as im trying to improve my sculpting skills and get things finished which i know is a shame but would never get anywhere if i was painting aswell!

I decided to pick a mostly finished deamon again, this time a Tzeentch inspired one. This sculpt is good to practise different techniques because i just added what i felt like at the time, and i need all the practise i can get!

Anyway on to the pics:

Also picked up a couple of cheap lamps and been looking on the photography article section so should be getting better pics with the next up date. thanks.

Shame, that. Anyway, big fan of the flamer arm. When you get a chance, can we get a better shot at the head?

Hopefully, you're not done with the legs, because they look like they wouldn't be able to hold that body upright at all. I really feel they need some more bulking out.

cheelfy; its approximatly 6cm tall

Prophecy07; I wanted the legs to be quite thin and spindly and didn't intend to add too much to them but bulked them up with some demonic stuff, hopefully it still retains the thin look but with strength to carry the body.

also thanks for the comments :)

So after scrapping a few hours of work i finished the Tzeentch inspired deamon, first up is the brains of the operation, El Flamio:

This lil guy is only approximatly 8mm tall and is placed in the big guys open hand, thought i'd add a little bit of character/weirdness there.

Now onto the beast:

I added horns, claws, tendrils and demonic swirly skin (TM) in random places all over the place and tidied up some messy work on the armature which was done about a year ago now.
