Tip of the day:

Night goblin heads. True they have big noses but these have got to be among the largest and freakiest looking heads (hood included) that GW make in 40K scale and make excellent heads for chaos characters. If fitting to a marine type torso just put a ball of green stuff in the neck cup and fit at a jaunty angle. Night goblin hands are also on the large side (bigger than Ork/Orc ones?) and can be used for anything chaotic up to and including inquisitor scale minis.

Sorry for getting off topic up there for a minute...

Anyways, I just thought of another way to save. Instead of buying pewter space marine scouts, buy regular space marines. Leave off the shoulder pads, and us IG heads. Any of the special weapons can usually be found, or scratchbuild. For sniper rifles, take a lasgun and extend the barrel with copper tubing, add the sight from the space marine acceseries, and it looks really cool.

damn - i just thought about the gobbo heads for a conversion for an inquisitor mini for 40k! should look nice and evil with a few bionics added.

i have also done a sniper converion as pellimore says and they look great. i put a massive barrel on mine for an ork hunter sniper. great
