Diorama? \'Last Stand\'

I\'d rate the guy on the ground as a 5. It\'s decent tabletop quality, +1 for the conversion work and -1 for the mold lines. The bionic guy, would be lower, bad angle on the pic and it\'s unfinished, so I won\'t comment further.

I think the leg stump needs a bone though! Drill a hole in the middle and glue a wire or plastic rod in there, let it stick out about a milimeter, paint it a bone colour. You could even sculpt the 2 knuckle bulges at the end of the bone just above where the knee would be if you want it to look like the leg was eaten or ripped off instead of cut off.

Comming along nicely, more pics are desired. lol

You have some good stuff working here matt, especially conceptually. I get a real Marvel Zombies feel with it. As far as making the sniper more \"evil\" I think a more grey or grey/green cast to his skin would help, giving that sort of undead feel. Also after you have finished with everything, remember to add a layer of \'ardcoat to the bloody areas so it looks slick and wet. Keep plugging away.

Also, I would like to see a photo of the diorama as a whole as it progresses. Don\'t get me wrong, the close-ups are nice but I would love to get the big picture as well.

you know iw as thinking Carnage when i saw the Gangly man myself. i think the dead/dying guy looks much better.

for the sniper i always wonder why snipers don\'t have bayonets. you may not be able to make him \"evil\" looking but hanging a stogie out his mouth might make him look more butch?

Col Schaeffer has one so why can\'t a marine? can you still get cubans in the 41st millenium?

the picture is pretty poor but it gives you an idea

also,

what colour should i paint the \'gangly\' bloke with the tentacles.

Just a tip for everyone:

To make the barbed wire stuff (i used GW\'s razor wire) look more realistic, dip it in some brown ink. Leave it for around 5 seconds then dip it into some clean water a couple of times. Some of the ink will stay put and it will create a nice rusty affect without even painting it properly:D

Another Tip: How i made my dust/dirt affect.

1.)Firstly, make a \'stippling brush\' by cutting the bristles at about half way. It should look like a brush with really short bristles.

2.)Get a tiny bit of GW\'s dark flesh (or simialar) onto the brush and wipe about half of it off (like drybrushing but leave a bit more paint on the brush)

3.) Poke at the areas where you want the dirt to go (usually in deeper areas such as in folds of cloth or in between armour plates.) This is known as stippling.

4.) Get a drybrush with some Dark flesh on it and get almost all of it off (basically no paint left)

5.) Drybrush this ALL OVER the area you want dirty.

6.) Re highlight with the original colour or drybrush it on if you overdid the dirt

THANKS for reading this far (if you have!)

Hmmm color for the tentacle guy: ORANGE!!!!

Of course, if you want something a bit more standard, pink/purple is a fairly accepted way to go.

was gangly man mutated naturally or by some other means?

is it a parasite that would have its own color that caused him to mutant, or is it his own flesh?

the parasite could be any color, or a few washes form pinks to flesh on his \"arms\" may make him look a bit more like normal flesh that jsut stretched and formed this way...

or did you mean what color to paint him head/skin and all?

shadzar: He was possessed by chaos or some other dark creature where the imperial were based.
I may buy a chaos spawn next time my friend wants to get something from GW (i give him money and he gets it for me)

also i think i will go for a purpley pinky colour.

thunderhawker: you website is so confusing. I cant find where it gives fluff for them :(

so he is not finished modding?

i don\'t know about colors clashing, but you could go with bright greens and have him nurglish, purple-pink for emporers childrenish.

when i think mutations i usually think nurgle. but there is nothing that says green is for nurgle.

look in my gallery at my biovore and DONT do that. i think Mr Krush may be able to tel how the orange was done and just apply that to the greens.

for pus-filled holes (if any) i would say purple a good color to show them off as rather than black. liche purple maybe. not really sure what GW paints are in and out after the switch as i am still using the old screw tops.
