Hello folks! This is my first post but i have been checking the site almost daily for a year or so.
Just tought i'd post some pictures of my latest project's i painted for the local shop.
Mainly because i painted a few of those ugly minotaurs that got released =)
I tried to paint them a little darker to make em look a bit nicer compared to the gw ones.

uusmino.jpg

There, i actually painted all three but only took a picture of this one.

And before i had the "peasure" of painting the minotaurs i slapped some paint on a mawloc.

A few comments on the minotaurs would be nice ;)

Now im off to work on the new deff dread and a "couple" of other things.
Maybe ill manage to find some time to post em here when (and if) i get em ready.

Oh, and sory for some spelling/grammar and all other kind of errors.
Thanks for looking, good evening.

These minotaurus arent easy to paint. But yours are nice.

The only thing I notice, is that they are a litte bit monotonous. It would be fun, when even one bright colour have been used. For example the eyes. A nice glowish red... or, when the bones had antoher color than the hair...

Greetings, Taggi

I paint my thumb.
To make these look decent is quite a feat indeed. I like what you did with the arm plates.
I agree with Taggi that the bone/horns could have been another color than the hair.

Thank you for the kind words.

The minotaurs were painted in quite a hurry, i realised theyre going to be released on saturday the day before =)
That's why the horns/bones and hair is all the same, i think i got a little lazy and ran out of time =)
The bright colours on the other hand i chose to leave out.
I painted a huge set of different marines (including 6000points of blood angels) in the last 6 months and i got tired of red, almost hurts my eyes =)
Maybe a green glow on the eyes would have been good, hmm.

The mawloc was another quick job and personally i think i could have added a few more lighter colours to the carapace to make it look a little better.
But i reached my 5 hour time limit with it and left it like that.
Also i hope ill one day have my tyranid army painted in the same way.
It's possible considering i can use my airbrush for the green parts =)

Oh and if im not mistaken i some saw pictures of Tagamogas wip minotaurs.
I tought the skintone on em was perfect and makes the minis look a whole lot better =)
Almost good ;)

Have a nice day folks.

the mino is awesome and lightyears better than gw's crappy painted ones. nice to see that they actually had potential to be rather cool minis when are given a such a paintjob. good stuff.

I'm not a big fan of the color scheme for your Mawloc, but I absolutely love the minotaur. Could we see pics of him and his brethren? :)

Decided to take some time and post a few complete and w.i.p works i'we been working on for the past months.
Nothing special, mostly gaming figures and a few semigood display pieces for the local shop.

legio.jpg

This unit was fun to paint i like the flames and tried to get a dirty look on the bones an skull's.
There's also a nice glow on their feet but it doesn't show from the angle =(

valmispaladinkollaasi.jpg

My first sculpt, pretty pleased with it, made with GS and milliput.

trukki2.jpg

Been working on my prc army, already have about 700p painted. Started the project after christmas.
trukkiboyz-1.jpg

Here's the boyz =)

stompaedest.jpg

Built a stompa, a little unfinished here, added a lot of rivets and stuff, havent had the time to take some pictures =(

chaplainwip.jpg

This one is going for my friend, been taking my time with it. I think this is the next figure im going to add to my gallery.
Trying to give this one a really nice paintjob, hopefully i have managed to do it so far and continue to paint the rest in same standard.

Happy holidays an a good summer to folks.
Im of to skateboard =)

I really like those skeleton soldiers, if that's what you call "semigood" I can't wait to see how that single skeletal warrior is going to turn out! Not to mention you seem to have some good sculpting skills as well, color me envious.

Thanks.
I tought the pose would be easy to start with and i also think it kinda says "come get some".
I'we been working on the next sculpt (Old zogworth) but i have only managed to get the body done before burying it to some of my drawers.
So much to do, so little time =)

It's too hot in here, been staying cool and inside.
And so i got some work done for a friend of mine and for myself also.

waaagoni.jpg

Spent two days with this one, i think i rushed a bit with the chipping and ill need to fix it someday.
But for now it's done and ready to play with.

hormisunitti.jpg

25 Hormagaunts for my friend, used my airbrush on these and i gotta say i love that thing.

Now i just gotta figure out what to paint next.

Wow you do a lot of work for everyone else. I hope they are paying you in some form at least. Solid stuff all around btw.

Hi Dewil, you've got some nice work on display in this thread :good:

The chipping on that tank hasn't really worked has it, looks more like a camo pattern. The chipping needs to be on areas that will accumulate the most wear. Most simply, on edges rather than flat planes (although those could be worked out with a dent & an area of specific impact from a shell). Whilst I'm sure that shrapnel & bullets on the battlefield are completely indiscriminate as to which bit of paintwork they'll damage, the effect on the model ends up being so "random" as to resemble a pattern! The red on the main gun barrel doesn't really work for me either :( As you say, he's fine for the table though :)

The black & the red Space Marines clearly show that you can paint well, just need to keep practising those new techniques. I shall continue to watch with interest.

Cheers, B.

Thank's for the comments.
BPI i think you hit the point with your post. I actually am practising the chipping/damage and rust on these orks, i tought i'd make em look like they have been in a fight or two ;)
The good thing is i have about 13,000 points of em so i can keep on practising for quite a while before i ran out of stuf.
I was actually a bit toxicated when i painted the last bitz of the wagon and booze+painting=not a good combo.
It usually leads to the next morning and a realisation that i have to strip the mini completely, but i think a bit of red paint will work this time.
The black marine has been on my table for ages, im trying find the inspiration and time to finish it.
Been painting a blue crystal sword for it but im not sure if it works, maybe a picture in here would get me some advice.

Have fun folks!

Been painting the minis of the island of blood box for the shop.
I don't play fantasy myself so it's kinda fun to paint them for a change.
Started with the big ones, going to paint the units in a patch, one color on every mini then the next color and so on.
But yeh a picture.

Got a bit lazy on the mage, i wont bother to pick out a detail brush on these so the highlights could be a bit sharper.
But i think these will do just fine gathering dust on a shelf =)

These two look good but I think the gold needs a bit more depth, a wash of dark blue and then of brown could be good.

I used flesh wash over a basecoat of brazen brass and started highlighting.
Maybe ill have to try the blue or maybe black/blue wash, thanks for the tip.
The picture also twist's the colours of the metals a bit =(
