He meant rivets as in tiny bumps to add to his builds but I do second (third really) of being into the idea of sending my extra figures for a custome in return

As for ideas on really large tanks and such I like the idea of taking all the Sturmpanzer legs and putting it on one big "octopede" tank
But the only reason would be to mount large artillery and in my opinion the old BFGs are well covered
My idea would be to go with the underused gas rules and mount a cannon that fires gas rounds
Once targeted, the player would make 3-4 deviation flips- each one producing its own gas cloud

For the Ostriches I would do what they did with the old Sherman tanks and outfit them for different tasks such as mine clearing

Just my personal two cents
Just please keep up the good work

I really like Solarious' idea of some octapede or hexapede weapon platform.
An alternative idea for the legs would be, to remove the bligt's tank from the base and create a split mould of one leg. I think that should actually be possible due to the tank's geometry.
Then you could cast as many legs as you wish - even without the destruction of a model. The body of the platform might be scratchbuilt anyway.
Besides you could make casts of the detatched base as well.
I think the tracks of the rocket bikes or the vertical tanks might be some proper base for some allied weapons platform. The ostrich might be difficult becaus of it's shape I think.

Thanks for the ideas, please keep them coming, you were thinking along the same lines as me I think, got several ideas in mind.
I think I'll avoid simply transplanting the ostriches legs. I'm thinking of cutting one set up to make arms, as they are similar to the Landkrieger's alternative, and also maybe a large gun firing mechanism.

Just a brief update today, as don't want to make too big incase that's why my pics keep not attaching correctly.
So teasers, walls so very close to done, just some hole covers to make to allow the gate posts to be plug-able. I've completed the Relay custom mini, and the last of my convoy is nearly there too.

Main update has been slightly scuppered by the fact that elsewhere it's just been made clear to me in another thread that the Jetpacker is actually a support unit, rather than an infantry one.
Basically I'm too cheap to pay the asking prices at the moment for an actual Jetpacker, but I like the look of his stats and how they could influence games. So I thought I'd try and build a stand in. As I'd mentioned previously I picked up a second base set to make custom mini's with and found myself with three fairly destroyed rocket bikes having lost their treads, rockets, handlebars, exhausts, and parts of their riders. I really wanted to try and use these and fancied making something a bit silly.
So looking at the stats I needed something that would visually say, 'get out the way or get squashed - tank shock.' I had the treasure hunter out at the time so giant boulder jumped to mind, so I raided my bits boxes.
Strangely enough as Rivet Wars is steam punk and based on history, I ended up using some oldschool materials. The black ball sections are dispoable camera winders and the white are the spool sections from cassette tapes, with some trimmed down toy tractor hubs in the middle. Ended up suitably gribbly I think : ).

So Build 39: Neutral Unit 'The Marble.' (Complete)

Thought I'd do some action board shots too, so here is the Marble leading a squad of wheels in a beach landing against the entrenched Allies.
I was a bit worried a bout the height but it looks ok so far sat next the the official minis.

More pics soon, hopefully a big walls update.
BTW I've also been making some table accessories for Zombicide that I got for Xmas, made from similar foam-core stuff like the walls. I've built a deck stcak/token holder and sectional zombie bin.

That's all for now, as ever all critisism/ideas welcome : )

As always, these are absolutely amazing. I am once again in possession of a laptop and shall be more active on the forums in the coming weeks. Always look forward to your work. :)

Hi all, sorry for delay in posting, walls will be a bit longer as gotten distracted, just got a cheap stutmpanzer/ostrich/support/bikes blitzkrieg box sheet and two battle bin boosters, so been playing around with your/my ideas.Teaser; what would you call a sturmpanzerbthat got very fat, grew an extra set of legs, and had a conjoined twin?

I started with big Bertha but it's for the (clearly not) German faction, so went with Brunhilda, then saw deadpool again last note and for giggles it's become Barbara!

Hopefully I can introduce her in an update this weekend, nearly finished and needs paint
Back soon

Hi all,
Update as promised. but first
Build 40; Neutral Unit, The Relay. (Completed, for now)
This one definitely didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped with the hat band and headset all blending into the hair too much. I'll probably redo this nbit t some point. Pretty happy with his pack though, made from rocket bike peddles, a schlitten ammo box.

Aaaaand the main event.

Build 41: Custom Blighten Unit, Superheavy, 'Barbara.'
Pretty happy with this one, needs a repair on the turret and literally a couple more bits of detail, I don't want to over-do it with the gribbliness, the plain spaces making the simple style of rivet wars really appeals to me. That said though I may add rivets in some places later. How I made it is fairly self evident, I quartered a Sturmpanzer then added extra sections in the middle and increased the height using plasticard. Then removed the legs from a second for the turret.
The turret gun is some megablocks barrels cut down and stacked, then banded in plasticard.

Hope you like it.
As always any questions/critisisym welcome.
If anyone has any ideas for other units, I got the two bin boosters and extra Blitzkrieg sheet, so I have for parts
1 x Sturmpanzer
3 x Ostrich
4 x Pounder
4 x Sclitten
2 x Monowheel
7 x Rocket bike
Plus left over bits from other builds and many basic troopers, few heroes.

Love to hear your thoughts, also I now have quite a few sets of patches and transfers if anyone wants them?

Superawesome!
I love the monster turrent made from the Sturmpanzer's main body.
I Can't wait to see it painted.

How many grids does it take?
I guess the allied need some pendant then?
What is the whit material that you used? Plasticard?

By the way the link for the relay seems to be broken. =(

As a landship lover, I love this. PS: Cannot see your neutral unit.

PSS: As our PM conversation, I now have a laptop again! I'll be going through with posting your custom units to FB as soon as I can. Thank you so much for the permission.

Hi all,

Lets see if I can get an update with pictures on the first try.
Worked out whats going on, the site keeps trying to tell me I don't have permission to post pics, despite being logged in, and then logging me out, weird.
Anyway lets try again,
Build 40; The Relay. (Complete-ish)
As said before I will rework the hat/hair at some point.

Build 41;Blighten Superheavy (Complete)
This one still needs a little more detail and repair but I really wanted to paint it up. Colour isn't spot on but close, if I ever find the right Allies/Blighten colours I'll re-paint.
So as people had asked, yes it does cover two grids.
I thought rules could be interesting for such units, something like the number of grids for moving is counted only from the 'front' grid, then each turn the unit can rotate only 90 degrees from where it was.
Thought this could be a good mechanic to bring the bigger weapons at the back to bare, but would be risky as it would present a larger/easier to reach target.
Mu thoughts were it would be an alternative to the existing superheavy, but only '3' armour, so more can hit it, but with more hit points before destruction, maybe 8 or 9.
Soon I will make a start on it's tracked Allies counterpart with similar plans. If anyone got any ideas for that one or other I'd love to hear them.

You cant really tell in the pics but I also upscaled the armour on the legs a bit, I cut it in half then clad it in the plasticard with a gap of bout 3mm in the middle.

Aaaand a couple more for you.
Builds 42; The Originals (WIP)
ASA with some of my better builds these came together almost by themselves in a couple of days and felt really natural putting together. As I'd said I got a couple of BattleBin boosters, so had a couple of iron chancellors and uncle rivets to use. So I came up with some armoured wheel chairs, fluff to come later.
Love to know what you guys think.
I realise the flags make them look a little too Mario Kart, but I was sort of going for silly : )
Oh and if anyone needs some of the decals or faction patches them PM me, I'm not using them and got loads going spare.

No long explanations on these just a few pics as I spent about an hour uploading latest pics and doing my slow typing, only for the forum to once again log me out and refuse to let me post the reply i was working on.
Sorry to be short but this is now happening almost everytime. This is how forums loose casual members!!!
Anyway rant over if anyone knows how to fix this please let me know, so here are my walls finally, still a little wip, big walker size comparison, latest building thus far and new unit Rivet Monger, made from Ostrich and Pounders with lego bits, still uncertain if will add hands.

Awesome work!
I really admire the Walker/ Exosoit.
Really fits the styple of the game.
What did you make the walls from if I may ask?
Plasticard? Wood? Paper?

Thanks, glad you liked, will eventually make caps for holes to make walls pluggable too, forgot to take a pic but the gate post sections can also be used without the gates attached to form mid wall defence emplacements, as two infantry can still fit on the front row.
The main material was 5mm foam core I found really cheap, then variuos bits had plasticard glued on. The rivets were plastic rhinestones, which worked well as oversized.
Eventually I'm considering doing some tubbed sections so wall sections either side could be replaced if the middle one is destroyed. Also possibly a large grid piece that has overlapping skirt roof so could be surrounded by walls to form a large bunker covering a full board tile? Still plenty of other ideas to do first though.

Hey Man, Just wanted to check in and see if you were still doing some sweet, sweet builds?

Hey, if you ever wanted to, say, sell those Landing Craft, I'd be interested. With the youtube starting up, I'm gonna be on the lookout for any and all ways to make the games more and more interesting.

I don't know why I never saw this thread before but WOW! I am in the middle of a Rivet Wars revival and was looking for ideas. Now I have to start looking at various toys for items to use for building fortifications and such.

I am also wondering if anyone has been building other nations from scrath? 3D printing is my next investigation. I hope to start making some cool add-ons as well.

Also when you create these new units what do you use as a guideline for building their stat cards?

Please let me know if and when you do 3D printed custom Units, please. Great to know for the channel.

Also, check out the new Rivet Wars Wiki recently revamped. Would love to throw around some ideas for different factions or custom units. My group and I also have has extensive discussions on adjustments to additional units and custom plug types. If you are serious about it so am I.
