]I haven't disappeared, just fighting for my job... The good news is that the budget was passed and my job was reinstated, the bad news is that it will come up again next year. While trying to releave the stress, I have been painting into the night so I have not been getting photos of my in progress work, I promise to rectify that in the future, especially because I started this thread with the goal of getting feed back to improve my painting.

So here goes:
The final pictures of Belith, I will be creating a panormaic view of these to submit for voting, I am hoping for at least a 3 on her.

The Tortiose Dragon is also completed. I am very pleased with how the shell came out on her.

Pictures maybe NSFW

Here is the project I am currently working on, the 2008 Elmore Demoness from Dark Sword Minatures. I have to do some touchups and seal the mini. I was trying the technique of blending that Games Workshop wrote about in the 2008 edition of How to Paint Citadel Miniatures where you use a wet brush to blend the layers into the color below it.

I love the way her wings came out. I think her face is a little dark but I am okay with it.

Your progress is very good. Painting a lot of flesh is one of thebdifficult things in this hobby. You really need to work on getting more highlites into the flesh and blending it into the base coat. The wings do look really nice. Why are you sealing the figures? Are you playing with them or something?

Milosh,
I seal the figures with 2 coats of gloss and 1 coat of Matte sealer because all of my figures are open to use at my weekly gaming session, we play DND and are starting to play Call of Cathulu.

I got ya. Seal away then, you don't want to eff them up. I was not sure if you were painting her for display or not. When you get into display painting you wont need to seal them.

Well, it's been a while since I last posted, or painted for that matter, but I did get the motivation to paint this week and finished up this figure from Reaper, Sir Barlow, Templar.

Front view I don't know why this picture came out slightly blurry, both photos were taken with my camera mounted on a tripod with a cable release, I will retake the photo tomorrow.

I hope with my next figure to post in progress pictures as opposed to just uploading my finished works.

Hard to tell from the blurry pict, but the metal and the freehand cross look good. The red on the cloak, looks like it went on a little too thick. Overall looks good.

The red did go on a little thick because I got a little sloppy with the shadows, I was trying to finish quickly before I had to run to a meeting, so I repainted the cloak and tried again.

I'm going to make an observation here, I think you're putting your primer on a little heavy as the detail seems "softened" and that's going to make your work a lot harder.
Also I think your base coat could do with being more dilute.
You don't need to get a single coat coverage for the basecoat, often a few thinner coats will give you a better effect and allow you you to work more efficently especially with the skin tones.
I'd also like to suggest that doing a base coat and leaving it isn't a good working practise, far better to have a concentrated effort to get skin tones worked out in a single sitting than do one colour, wait a day or so then another. Working the whole colour patten in one go gets a consistency to the model.

It's been a while since I have posted, I blame a year of unemployment or near to that level for my break, at one point it got so bad I was ready to start selling off just about everything I owned. after 8 months of temping, the job has become perminant an I finally have a job that allows me to paint, eat and commute to work.

I will post photos of some of my resent work in the future. In the mean time, here is one of the figures I am working on at the moment, Sascha Dubois #80004 in the Reaper Bones line. Sorry for the quality, iPad cameras are not the best.
