/...Seems like every post around here starts off with the same "I haven't painted as much as I'd hoped, but I got a bit done at least", and this one is no different :) /.../ One of these days I'm going to paint a mini with a basic zenithal light source and life will be so easy, haha.
hahahaha I also haven't advanced anything in the last week and a half. Here is starting to get hot and I've been busy with other life amusements and obstacles... xD
Now I see it much better, I was scared before, because the skin tone reflected the sunset light perfectly and the armour on the picture just put me out of the ambience... with this new picture is much more evident your excellent work. ;)

Ohh, really like the metal and the flesh. Posts like this (and many that I'm reading today) make me want to get busy at the workbench.

Really great minis. I'm jealous of the cloak on Morvhana - purple/pink/magenta is a colour range I just simply can't seem to get right at the moment.

Thanks everybody for stopping in;
@ricardo523 I looked through your thread trying to find examples of purple to see if I could offer advice, but I couldn't find anything. Let me know if you'd like any tips!

After dabbling away half an hour here and an hour there, I forgot what it feels like to make progress, so this weekend I committed to actually doing some painting. There are still a ton of things to clean up and finish off but I can finally see the finish line. It's funny how I seem to forget how quickly I can paint a mini when I actually sit down and paint it. In winter time a 50mm sculpt is like a week-long project; in the summer suddenly a 50mm sculpt drags on to like a month, haha.

Apologies for the crappy lighting:

Thanks guys,
You're probably getting sick of seeing updates on the aptly named 'Super Tanned Dude', or orc-ish ogre, or whatever you want to call him, so here's the last look before I start trying to tie the base in together. There are a couple blemishes to fix that I can see from the pictures- the lack of blend on his lower abs is ticking my OCD, but most of the details are taken care of now. NMM on chainmail was an interesting experience, but it looks believable enough for me.

I will never get sick of seeing updates on your thread!!! Your painting is top notch and it’s always inspiring to have a good look at your work... this guy is superb and I can wait to see him mounted on a base.

Hey everyone; I disappeared for a long while, although I've been silently checking out everyone's work as often as I can, and have been amazed with some of the stuff you guys have been up to. I went on a big drawing kick for the last little while which left no time for the paint brush, however with Christmas around the corner, I have some projects that need to get done, so I finally pulled back out the paints over the last few days.

First up are a couple Sequitors that I started just before the pencils stole me away. One is basically done except the base, the other is halfway there. I've never played Warhammer, but I liked the $20 boxes of Sequitors and Primaris Marines, so I'll be painting them just for fun casually in between projects.

Next up are the actual Christmas projects. The first is a bust of Cosette from Les Miserables for my mom. She's always loved the music and I took her to the broadway musical for her birthday this summer, so I figure it'll mean a lot to her. The other two figures are for my brother and his wife. I promised them last Christmas that I'd paint the characters for their DnD characters, but I couldn't find the right 30mm minis. Instead I decided to just paint them as 75mm versions as kind of mementos, since they've played the same characters for like 4 years, so they're pretty meaningful to them. Anyways, novels aside, I should be posting more regularly as I make progress.

Really strong work as always, lovely purple fabrics on the Stormcast minis and excellent, rich tones in that bust skin tone.

nice to see some new posts.

Fabulous work. I second that the purple you used on the Stromcast is very well done. And as a fan of Les Miserables myself, I can appreciate your work on the bust.

Not sure how I missed this thread because there is some incredible painting here! I love that tanned barbarian-looking guy! The metals and skin are both outstanding! I will be looking forward to more updates soon :)
