Thanks for the feedback guys really helps. I did this all in one evening and I know I rushed the lines probably should have left them til the next night. I did have reference but this is first time I've tried this out. Something was bugging me with it and I think the big mistake I've made is painting the effect at real scale rather than miniaturising the texture if that makes sense. I'll try tidy up those lines etc but I think I'd have to do this over again to get it right.
