Black spray primer (GW)

They want 25 bucks a tin for GW primer over here.

Unless it's made from dolphin tears and comes in a platinum plated can, they can go forth and wedge it in their fundament...

The trouble with most non mini-specific undercoats/primers in my experience is that they are designed to fill in any minor imperfections. Exactly what you dont want when priming a mini:)
Depends on the primer and your hand. The Duplicolor stuff goes on very lightly and leaves a fine coat. Not as fine as Tamiya, but good enough for most applications. Not sure if the propellent likes plastic though: try on a test mini or part of a sprue first.

£13? FOXTROT Romeo Oscar.

Luckily we are all wealthy dairy barons down here...

With Vallejo Model Air Grey Primer (and similar) at £1.80 delivered an airbrush doesn't have to do a lot of work to pay for itself. No complaints about fumes neither. Wish I'd made the investment years ago.

I use the walmart brand paint myself. It is fairly consistent in strength, but I have had a bad can before. They had also miss labeled a Gloss black for flat black, that was a pain to clean off.
