Friend of mine had a fight with a squirrel while sitting at a cafe on the university campus. He had a muffin sitting next to him on a bench outside and was drinking his coffee. A squirrel came up to investigate the yummy muffin, so my friend grabbed the muffin off the bench, at which time the squirrel inched closer and closer to him. He tried to hold the muffin with the same hand as his coffee, grabbing a newspaper to try to shoo the little bugger away. Apparently, the squirrel took it as a threat, because it then lunged at him. Panicking, my friend hit the squirrely with the rolled newspaper, spilling coffee on himself at the same time. This made him almost lose hold of his muffin, which made the squirrel even more excited. My friend ended up pinning the squirrel to the bench with the rolled up newspaper while swearing at the squirrely while it tried to squirm out from under it to lunge at his muffin again. My friend then tried to quickly eat the muffin, hoping the squirrel would then go away.
I also saw some guy on campus chasing a squirrel while it ran across the lawn with what looked like his brown bag lunch in its mouth.
