Hello fellow artists,

While having trouble sleeping last night I was struck by this idea-

Why not set up an informal and fun online painting competition that starts now and ends Friday the 26th. The idea is to start and finish painting a model between now and the 26th. It doesn\'t matter what type of figure or how well you paint it, just that you get painting and have fun doing it (remember this is for the title \"Best Painter in the WORLD.. that\'s big time!) Here are the rules-

1 - Please start a totally new project (something you\'ve wanted to paint, or a goofy conversion, anything..), Please do not finish up something you\'ve already put 200+ hours into. There is obviously no way for us to judge whether or not you adhere to this rule, lets try and keep it fun and honest.

2 - Post a quick pic of the unpainted, or mostly undone mini in THIS thread. If you can\'t it\'s no big deal, maybe just post a quick description? (this is to try and make sure you all are starting new projects and get everyone excited for the finished pieces!).

3 - Once you have finished your mini, post a pic of it in the \"Best Painter in the WORLD submissions thread\" I\'ll start that thread on Thursday (25th)

4- Anyone on the site can go through the submissions thread next Friday and Saturday (26th & 27th) and leave posts voting for their favorite pieces. You can vote for whatever reason you like, maybe it\'s technically the best, maybe it\'s a cool conversion, maybe it\'s really funny.

5 - I\'ll tally up the votes and award a winner on Sunday the 28th

I will ship the winner a goodie bag of prizes plus the honor of being \"the Best Painter in the WORLD\" (people may not believe you now, just wait until you show them the \"Best Painter in the WORLD\" trophy that I\'ve whipped up! )

Here are the Prizes...

Remember, this is supposed to be fun . (I\'m putting the prizes together myself so please don\'t expect anything too crazy.)

Can\'t wait to see what people come up with,

lol this clashes with so much stuff that I can\'t even begin to tell. However it will be fun if the \"masters\" get upset and wants to participate just for getting that title. :) Will watch with interest.

That\'s no fun... This is to see what you can paint up within the next week (not something you\'ve already finished.) It doesn\'t have to be super serious, just have a good time with it.

@ alien667 - If you go to the forum FAQ it should tell you. Also try registering at www.photobucket.com. They can store your images and it\'s free.

love the idea, but your not giving people much time... I don\'t have a camera myself so I would need to borrow one from my dad, hence I\'ll loose time painting.. as I can\'t start untill I get the pic... :(

Ohh well...

If you can\'t get the pre-painted pic up right now then don\'t worry about it. I trust that you are starting a new figure.

Yes, it\'s not much time, that\'s the challenge! :bouncy:

here is what I\'ll be working on (of course I won\'t be up for the prize, but this is a good motivator!)

It\'s a figure from the \"INFINITY\" line that I picked up when in LA for GD. Just opened the blister now. Looks nice!

Go to Photobucket or some other freebee picture hosting, and host the image, then

Take the URL of the image, and click the button when creating a reply that has an image of an arrow pointing at a landscape.

Insert the url to the box that pops up when you click it.

And click ok. there is your image.

Alternativly, just write: [*img*]www.yourimageurl.com[*/img*]

Without the stars (*) And it\'s in..

I\'ve taken a Imperial Confessor Kyrinov and converted him into a Freemason Knight\'s Templar priest... thing :D looking pretty cool atm, I just need a pic of the damn thing... :(

Could I start him, or should I get a pic first ? What do ya say ?

By all means, start painting! A pic would be nice but it\'s not the end of the world if you don\'t have one.

Hello everyone,

I just included the prizes with my original post. Go to the beginning to check them out. I hand picked the \"series 7\" brush. They are my favorite, especially the size 0. Hope this helps get people motivated! There is still plenty of time!

Brushlicker and Freak!
Fun idea. I\'ve come to this late, but it could be the inspiration I need to get my painting desk setup and operational again.
