I never heard of braindead, was is made before or after Dead Alive? Also with a Lawnmower/Zombie scene :)

Got to find the origin of the lawnmower/zombie genre :)

Edit: I figured it out! Same movie, 2 names :) Go Peter Jackson!

Braindead/Dead Alive is absolutely hilarious!! I couldn\'t believe Peter Jackson was allowed to do the LOTR films with stuff like that and Bad Taste in his portfolio! Glad he was, though...

Somehow, I think that fight scene is probably more realistic than most \'cool\' fight scenes...

Don\'t forget \"Meet the Feebles\" another Peter Jackson Classic...

I was also a little amazed they gave LOTR to him as well

Well, it was his idea to make the LOTR films, but someone obviously had enough faith in him to grant him an almost unlimited budget and let him shoot three films all at once. I wonder if they\'d seen his earlier works... :]

1) All respect to Bruce Lee, I\'d prefer a Jackie Chan fight scene - not only is the man a master in his own right, but humor added into the mix is a good thing. This is also why They Live rocks. :)

2) Gotta go with vike on this one...Pelennor Fields.

3) Private Ryan is right up there...along with pretty much anything directed by John Woo in his HK days (Hard Boiled, Better Tomorrow, Killers, etc)

4) Sin City fo sho.

Well, maybe I mixed up the titles. There\'s a new one he showed at the Venice Film Festival last week. Do you happen to know the title?

Aha, no wonder I got the titles mixed up then... Right, now there\'s TWO more films I need to see. :) Thanks!

Thanks for the input all. I see some of you have put some real thought into the answers which is what I was hoping for, good to see some titles I hadn\'t heard of like Brotherhood, will keep my eye open for them; I\'m waiting impatiently for House Of Flying Daggers, didn\'t get the chance to see it at the cinema.

Pleased to read mention of the alley fight from They Live, the excellent and very loud shootout in Heat, the iconic lobby scene from The Matrix (technically in 4, not 3) and for visceral impact the landing in Saving Private Ryan. I\'m glad there was a passing mention of anime, since one or two in my shortlists.

I thought the scene at the end of Star Wars: Episode 1 between Darth Maul, Obi Wan, and Qui Gon was pretty cool. Now the rest of the movie...

1, Bare-knuckle brawl
Cool Hand Luke---Paul Newman and George Kennedy. Paul takes a beatin\' like none other--but just won\'t lay down.

2, Swords, knives, sharp sticks
--Carey Elwes and Mandy Patinkin in The Princess Bride--hokey, I know, but still my favorite sword fight.

3, Guns, guns, guns
--Clint Eastwood, Unforgiven----the bar scene where he avenges the death of Morgan Freeman\'s character.

4, Through the blender
True Romance---James Pandolfini and Patricia Arquette.

I understand they were trying to recreate the swort of thing Douglas Fairbanks used to do, so maybe one of the oldies would be best.
Personally I think the fight between Jose Ferrer\'s Cyrano D\'Bergerac and the crowd of hired killers is one of the best.
\"you have robbed me of my hundreds\" he shouts since he was so happy he said he could take on hundreds of swords and only about 12 attacked him.
