Thank you. As soon as I get moved in my new place and get my hobby bench set up I will experiment with this advice and see where it gets me.

Remember to avoid light you have no control over e.g. daylight.
if you cant avoid these types of light sources at least make sure they are behind you when you
take your pics

Or, better yet, shoot in the shade. You always have control over your lighting - even when that lighting is the sun. We can place something between the sun and the subject so that direct, harsh light is avoided. You can use something to bounce the light on to your subject. Using natural light can be a great light source - not one to be arbitrarily avoided. Just learn to use it like you would anything else in photography.

How far away from the mini are you shooting from? could you show us an uncroped image to get an idea of how much you are zoomed in?

Almost Perftec! Aw, crap.
What you can't see here is the scale. That is an actual person dressed up in costume standing perfectly still on a white syc screen not a well painted mini on a piece of paper. Tommie cheats all the time, I swear :p

Other thing what to do with metallics? always they reflect the light and when i put in more shadow then i cant see the highlights.

Ill be greatfull for some tips ;)

The absolute ONLY way to avoid this complete mastery of NMM. And not just silver NMM. I'm talking painting a chrome 16mm Terminator 2000 using SE NMM from inside the Sistine Chapel with the majority of the mini angles six degrees towards the ceiling. Then, and only then, will you reflection problem go away.

Tommy, while I respect your vast experience and take most of what you say as doctrine, I have to say that shooting outside can be very beneficial. I either look for an overcast sky, or try to shoot in a shady area but close to bright sunlight. Here is my current WIP where I simply took the base outside and placed the mini in a shaded area on the edge of a strongly lit area. Also, when I resized it it lost a lot of detail so if I knew what I was doing there it would look even better. This was taken with an iphone5.
