And im just curious, does Bobby Wong not even enter any GD because he knows he would win?

Uhm, no (and frankly, no one ever \"knows they will win\" - you never know what judges are looking for from year to year). Bobby Wong didn\'t enter this year because he just finished his finals a week before Games Day. And a typical model of his takes well in excess of 100 hours of time. And rumor has it Jason Richards will be entering closer to home in Toronto. As for not making first cut, keep at it :) I didn\'t make first cut either, but then I am considerably older than the Sword Winner :(

I think the month ahead was really a dumb move by GW. Gamesday itself just didnt have many people at all. Compared to previous years that is :p

There was tough competition. Neither of my entries made it into first cut, but I still have many years to improve. My personal favorites was the Nurgle Demon with light up eyes. I am very happy that Adam Cromwell won the sword (even though im pretty jelous). It goes to show that us younger painters can have a shred of talent. I still have 2 years until im his age though. One thing that surprised me was that most of the power houses werent there. Jason Richards who brought home alot of GDs last year didnt enter anything. And im just curious, does Bobby Wong not even enter any GD because he knows he would win?

Powers of deduction...

Are you 15?

Maybe.... lol

When I said that he knows hes gonna win I meant that winning a GD just isnt rewarding to him, because Im sure that everytime he entered the Golden Demon his piece would place.

Diluting

I think this year\'s Baltimore is proof that the quality of the American Golden Demons is getting worse. I think GW introduced too many GDs too fast for painters to bring up the standard in time, and now you can see the quality going down. The slayer mini is in a really English (GW) style, and it\'s awesome such a oyung kid won it (power to the young\'uns! Ridicule the coffin dodgers :p!).

I too am wondering though where all the painters went. Jen Haley is absent, Bobby Wong and Victor hardy both absent for the second year running (though now we know about Bobby), and Jason Richards is entering Toronto only.

I get the feeling though that next year will be much better, as everyone sees the lower quality, and takes the opportunity to jump in and put in a good effort when they have a chance. This may happen specialy in Atlanta.

Oh, and a final note, here\'s a quote from Ben Bishop on his Stegadon and Squirrel dude:
\"My \"Curse of Squirrels\" entry is a Priest of Taal in the midst of casting a spell called.... The Curse of Squirrels. Priests of Taal go as far back as Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. They made a reapearance in Mordheim as a character choice for the Ostlander Mercenary gang. One of the spells they can randomly generate for casting is called Curse of Squirrels. The spell summons a swarm of squirrels to devour the Priest\'s foes. For those of you who doubted the Warhammer Ethos of the Stegadon here is another background tidbit. I decided my Stegadon would be from the Dragon Isles. This is a place detailed in the Lizardman army book. On the map it is near an as of yet undescribed area of land known as THE IND. I wonder what sort of generic ethnic and cultural template GW will decide to model this land after? (sarcasm). I figured the proximity of the Dragon Isles to the Ind would mean there would be definate cultural cross overs especialy since these lizardmen are cut off from their ancestral background. This is why I portrayed it with a decidedly Indian feel.\"

Sounds like all the debating over his minis is driving him nuts! lol
