That's just your "rough" sketch of the NMM. I would be happy if I could get something close to that for my finished version!

Sweet metal. It doesn't have to be smooth, #fucksmoothness! Still gives a very strong feeling of shiny metal.

The NMM visor on the helmet is brilliantly done. It looks like real brushed metal. If the rest of the figure is as well done it I can’t wait to see it.

Thanks everyone! I really didn't do any work to the body like I said I would, but I did do more to the helmet. Still needs another session or two to get it where I want it to be, then comes the ornament and the face.

Missed you, bud! Looks fabulous. I’ll tell you what, that guy’s going to be ticked off if he gets a scratch on his new helmet in the next melee!

Wow that looks interesting. Was a fan of the NMM already but the tree brings it to a whole new level.^^

You see guys the thing about derek is ...he does not hold back from trying and implementing what he recently learns. And that is why this young handsome devil of a man 1) is destined for greatness -I mean before he learned these crazy nmm tricks he did very well at bagging medals at world expo....is a crystal brush winner and quite a few others. Imagine this young stud -needless to say derek -“NEVER LOSES HIS SHIT!!!!”
me on the other hand I’m gonna lose my shit!!!!!

inly derek and I know what this is in reference to.;)lolol ahhh nothing like having friends go thru the misery of waiting to see if one places at a top event. Derek your the best mate. When baily couldn’t be there you took the reigns and listened to my shit as I was about to lose my shit.

Thanks all! ST, once I get this style down I'm going to try to figure out how to this plus weathering and make it look real. That's going to be a much tougher challenge.

BAM, you're the best, always the kindest words. Hope things are going well, CB won't be the same without you.

Thanks, Ten. BAM, I used a Scharff size 00 that's a few years old and can't hold a tip anymore. After the freehand is on I'll use a good brush to add a ton more dots one at a time and make it look a little more natural.

Most realistic and successful complex techniques I’ve ever seen from you Derek. And since the start you’ve dabbled in very tough tech that have resulted in some finely painted art. You finally made it to where you have a very strong grasp on the NMM and chrome effects. Nothing but good things to you I feel from here on in!!!! Wowzers this is impressive.

I just noticed that Crystal Brush finally updated to the 2019 rules/categories, and I gotta say I'm a little concerned with the trend of combining/dropping categories every year. At this rate the 2021 show will only have 4 categories to enter in!
New changes are: SciFi and Fantasy single figure have been merged, Large Scale has been rolled into the Vehicle/Monster category.

Yeah that doesn't sound good, less winners and pictures for the rest of us to see. How can a space marines be judged against a knight in armour for example. Oh well.

Your nmm is some of the best I've seen, fantastic.
