Too right! Anyone remember the WD cover from 140-150ish that a picture of a Freebooter Captain (replete with pirate\'s hat) storming down the corridors of a tyranid ship? A friend of mine did an excellent diorama based on that picture, using the old Freebooter models.

Yeah. I loved the old Eldar fluff. Pirate/Mercenaries. The Orks use to have Freebooters too. Yes, Ork pirates. I think they were called Flash Boyz. Or something like that. I use to have some of the minis.

A little while back I was thinking of putting together a kind of pirate like set of models. The actual idea was to represent a Rogue Trader and his retinue. Plenty of Necormunda figures were on my list for that little job. Also thought of including one or two friendly alien races as well. Tau Air Cast pilot perhaps, or an Eldar (a Squat would fit in really well if GW still made them - have to trawl Ebay for one of those!). I only wanted about half a dozen models of different sorts that could be used in small skirmish games or maybe as an allied unit.

Orks! Orks! Orks! I say use orks as the base army, they land their ships by crashing them into the planet, and for heavy support use a looted basilisk to represent one of the heavy guns that they ripped away from the ship.

I faced a similar-themed Ork army

This army actually appeared in a WD at one point, if I remember hearing correctly. Gentleman by the name of Dave (forget last name). GREAT guy, played against him a couple of times. He has a ship built to look like it\'s tunneling through the ground, and some Orks with big suits that have the deep-sea diver type helmets custom-made onto them.

VERY nice.

And Rachel, tell your husband he\'s doing a fantastic job.

Arg. my eye.

This whole thread brings back memories of a fabulously horrible movie from the 80\'s called Ice Pirates! Anyone see it? Man, what a movie.

In one scene a robot is playing with himself. He has this little \"bolt\" sticking out of his groin area, and he\'s unscrewing it. When he finishes unscrewing it he falls to pieces on the floor. Apparently it was the lynch pin or some such drivel.

The movie also had this Space Herpe. In my 3rd or 4th grade art class I made a space herpe out of clay. When I brought it home my mother thought it was a falice and she burst into laughter. Nothing will traumatize a child more.

Back to therapy.
