If you are using him for blood bowl, I think a cooler conversion would have been to just cut the ball off the end and replace it with a football (bloodball?). I think that would have been much cooler. Right now he needs something in his hands as he's obviously holding something. Maybe you could add a banner pole with a team logo or something to balance him better if you don't like the ball and chain idea.
really good paint job, but with out his weapon to counter balance, he looks quite off, his entire posture is geared toward swinging a ball and chain. Now i dont know what hes doing. :(
