Richard I of England, the Lionheart

Hello everyone, I am glad to have the opportunity to present a new work, a 1/16 scale bust that is part of a project of the famous Spanish brand - FeR Miniatures. The project consists in the portrayal of the two emblematic characters of the third Crusade (1189-1192) at its culminating moment, the battle of Arsuf on September 7, 1191. The two protagonists are Richard I, better known as Richard the Lionheart and his opponent, Saladin (Shalāh al-Dīn Yūsuf ibn Ayyūb) - the first Ayyubid sultan of Egypt and Syria. As for my responsibilities in the field of portraiture, in collaboration with Fernando once again we set out to be inspired by personalities as realistic as possible using well-known characters from the Movie World. I have to admit that Fernando surprised me to propose Richard Harris with the age of the hero from Arsuf where coincidentally he turned 34 just the day after the battle. At the same age, Richard Harris played the role of King Arthur in the movie "Camelot". This movie belongs to the "musical" genre which didn't seems to inspiring me, so I looked for another role much closer to my character - Oliver Cromwell, another great military strategist in history. I aimed to obtain a resemblance until I found that the expression of the modeling is sufficiently suggestive. The materials I used were the usual: Milliput Yellow-Grey, greenstuff and the mixture of both
