Medieval town building

Working with red has always been more challenging for me, but I think the roof on this has come out pretty well. The building is the usual mountboard and balsa construction, with a strip of textured plastic around the lower storey and a sculpted milliput chimney to match.

looks great. I've always wanted to build a medeival town full of buildinggs just like this one. And I never use red on the roofs, as it looks to tough to do. Ialways use blue or green. You pulled it off though. good work.

Hi there and thanks for the comment :) Yep, we're surrounded by old buildings in our neck of the woods, and for the most part they do have exposed timbers which are virtually flush with the plaster. However, this is a terrain piece, so it's more to do with the overall look rather than pinpoint accuracy and architectural exactness ;) Using the raised timbers is quicker to build, and it gives some tactile presence to the piece; rather than an almost smooth surface you KNOW this is timbered *lol* I guess as with most gaming terrain, it's more to do with what it is supposed to be representative of, rather than what it actually is - much like hills and rivers :) It's always good to get another take and in an ideal world I would love to take more time building terrain but it's not an ideal world, clients have deadlines, and there are only so many hours in the day...yadda yadda. Thanks for voting :D

Overall, this would make a good addition to almost any tabletop battlefield. However, I did want to point out the exposed wooden beams should be flush with the white plaster, which you may already know. Either way, nice job.
