Ariencir, Waveservant of Umberlee (a.k.a. CMON Amazon)

Ariencir, half sister of Suli, rarely visits the surface world, but when she does, it is without a doubt to punish some poor soul who has transgressed against the mysterious "laws" of her capricious goddess. A cresting wave, symbol of Umberlee, has been painted upon Ariencir's shield so that all who meet her will know the fear of the undersea goddess. Ariencir favors the trident, like many of her people. *** Since it's unlikely I'll get points for ability, I thought I'd go with different. ;) Plus, I got a new dark blue and I was dying to test it out to see how it would work for shadowing my other sea-elf blues. The weapon swap was relatively easy until I accidently drilled all the way through her hand, but now you can't even tell there's a hole there. Horray! I chose orangey for her skirt/top mostly because I had gotten a new free paint from Reaper called "sample" that happened to be that color... ;) She was mostly fun to paint, except for the spots where the casting was particularly scratchy. The sculpt, however, is fantastic--thanks Steve! Also, I have to say thanks to Jenova, whose skin & face painting techniques I have shamelessly stolen and adapted for my own purposes. Thanks, Jenova!

Part of the reason that the trident placed above her hand was because I didn't want to try to thin out the part that's under her hand and is bigger than the shaft that's below. It's actually a bit of the spearhead that she was originally holding onto. I had enough trouble attaching the trident without trying to risk attaching it to yet another longer pole. Also, I think that making it any longer would have unbalanced the miniature.. The freehand on the shield I had envisioned as being much more complicated, so I think I was a little demoralized with how it came out and didn't want to deal with doing any additional freehand, from which I know her cloak suffers greatly. Thanks, paintwidow. :)

I really like the trident here, although I probably would've made the staff for it extend a little more above her hand instead of having the head of the trident right above her hand. You've done an awesome job with her skin tones, and her hair just screams sea creature. I like it. The yellow, while very bright, is well painted. I definately would have put some sort of pattern on it to break up all of that yellow a little. Even a simple border would have helped draw the eye away from focusing on the cloak so much. The orange is really nicely done. One of the things I find most impressive is the pattern on the shield. It's an extremely clean job, the curve of the wave is perfect and not at all timid. I also think her eyes a little buggy, but if that's the effect you wanted, bravo! Overall excellent job. :)

Of course she has big eyes! Sea-elves are part fish, aren't they? haha! ;) Thanks!
