Autumn Remembrance
Here is my version of this fine miniature. For those who like a full description, here we go... I like to tell a story with my figures: I found this one looked rather sad. I decided she had come to visit her dead lover's grave. The halberd and shield did not fit with the story I had in mind so I replaced them with more appropriate gifts: a late blooming rose and the heads of his assassins! The rose is from milliput and the heads from GW's zombie sprue. The lover's arms mark his grave, the well-used sword and shield have been battered by the elements since his interment; she has placed hers resting against the tree while she pays her respects. The shields are from an Essex hoplite and peltast. His shield bears intertwined rose stems, hers the face of the goddess of vengeance that she adopted following his murder. Her clothes bear 'native American' inspired patterns; the cloak was a gift from him that she had embroidered with a design of her people. The tatoo was inspired by a certain ex-TV life guard :) The tree is a painted twig; the ground is painted static grass with 'leaves' made from mixed herbs stolen from the kitchen. The grave mound is not very evident; successive layers of groundwork reduced the extent of the hump. The base was undercoated black, the figure white. The whole was painted with Vallejo Model colour paints. Voila, hope you like it. Merci aux membres de la groupe Figurine_fr pour leur aide avec ce projet :) For the stout of heart (and bandwith) larger images can be seen here: http://illuminatus.9online.fr/autumn.html
