I just finished this in time for the competition deadline (I hope) Anyways, I think I painted this pretty well, especially for my first real try at painting eyes (I've been mostly painting necrons, they dont really have eyes). It's really hard. I think the gold SE-NMM on the rim of the shield came out really well, but it looks kinda brownish. I am really proud of the tree I painted there on the shield. 5.5 The spear head looks good. I think this is the 1st time I saw this filed down (which is an improvement). The blending looks nicely blended and I can see the gradual transistions on it. But the sea-green and blue cape is harder to see shades on them. I guess the colors are just too dark. I can make out some blue and greet on her skirt, but there's not enough contrasts between the shades. The tree is a nice touch and I can see what you mean about the shield being too brown. But not bad. You'll have to be careful about the green bleading onto her skin. Her bikini line seems to have a smudge there. The one big improvement she can have here is darklining everything. It's simple enough as an idea, and you'll be surprised to see how much darklining can help the overall mini. Now the trick is to not bleed the darklines onto everything else. Hey, I didn't say it was easy. :P
