Amazon

Painted with GW and Vallejo acrylics. In my thoughts, amazons make me think of precolombian civilizations, that why the shield is directly inspired by a drawing of Xipe Totec, God of vegetal growth, found in a book about aztec religious codex. A lot of tests on this mini : my first base with cork-oak, my first NMM on such a large weapon, and my very first go in a contest ! First I was planning to paint freehand borders on clothes and she was supposed to go on a more elaborated base (carved temple stairs with frog, lizard and butterfly lost in vegetation) but ... I was too short in time ;-D Anyway, comments welcome.

Well, first using azted inspiration is definitely a good idea. Rocks on the base look real, what is cork-oak exactly? I can see you are quite handy with your brush but IMO highlights should be smoother on the cloak back view. I like your choice of colour, and while it is just a matter of time to be precise, I think good taste for colour is first rate in importance. Good work, but don't hesitate to spend more time on your mini for next contest :]

Excellent work. I really like the freehand painting. For the NMM I think the light areas need to have more white
