Hi all, This is my first mini ever put up on CMON.... I hope it works. This is also the 7th figure I have ever painted. I got a lot of really great advise from my local painting group, and I decided to give myself a very large challenge with this mini. Here is the list of things I attempted : -first time working with blue/green stuff (on the base) -attempting 3 layers of shading(shade, basecoat, highlight) on the whole, or most of the, figure for the first time -my second completed base - meet the deadline thanks for taking a look and for *any* feedback Dan

Thanks for the comments. The colors I used for the purple/green/blue are Cape Shade: Royal Purple #16 Basecoat: Hexed Lichen #15 Highlight: 1-1 mix of Hexed Lichen #15 and Ghost Gray #46 Clothes: Shade: Dark Green #28 Basecoat: add Camo Green #31 to Shade Highlight: add Buff #120(model color) to Basecoat Shield Shade: Imperial Blue #20 Basecoat: Ultramarine Blue #22 Highlight: Magic Blue #21 all from the vallejo game color line(except where noted). The metalic on the spear was a bit rushed, but did not look as bad to my eye as to the cameras eye.... live and learn. I was very happy to just get two dots of colors on the eyes for this piece.... I will work on better eyes on any new minis.

I don't know what colors you used, but I like it! The green/purple looks great together, and when you flip it, the blue/purple thing goes well too. I also like how the skin and hair complements each other. But her eyes looks like she's looking up. And the mettalic on the spear head looks a bit sloppy.

Dan, Your purples do indeed look great. Nice work. The greens aren't bad either. Try this, since you have a few of these.. use this figure as a baseline and put the others aside for a little bit. Practice painting other minis and then in a few months, try another.. and repeat untill you are out. It's really an interesting way to mark your improvement and what you learn. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your models.
