Bilbo Baggins

This one was fun to do. The wood floor is supposed to represent Bag End instead of doing it with static grass like he's standing in the middle of a field somewhere with his book and the ring. In case you would like to know how I did the base, I used little pieces of paper for the wood planks, gluing them to the base with PVA glue. Then I took an X-acto knife and cut very small slices in the planks like a wood grain. I painted the base with Snakebite Leather, then varnished it, so the ink wash wouldn't soak into the paper. Then I used a Flesh Wash ink over the base, which showed off the wood grain and the cracks between the planks. I hope you like it. Comments appreciated!

That is really cool, and thanks for info on how this technique was done. Have you tried using a darker ink? I would like to see how that looks.
