Dead Head High Elf Spearmen with Standard

Okay, here's evidence that I am completely insane. I plan on finishing an entire army in tie dye. I asked a while back for suggestions on a high elf color scheme, and thanks to everyone who made suggestions, but nothing was right. Then it hit me: "high" elves. Of course! Rainbow Tie Dye!! Here is my hopefully unique army theme. Every unit will have a standard using a different Grateful Dead logo. The spearmen were my first experiment to learn from. The archers have more cloth showing, so they will require more experience. These old elves were a bugger to paint. The detail is very shallow. Normally I won't put unfinished models up, but the bases are going to be blasted earth until my local store decides to buy some static grass. This was only my second time painting gems (technically my 2nd to 19th). That was the only thing that I managed to "speed paint." That is another part of my experiment. How fast can I do this? I actually plan on playing with these guys, so I will decide after I play a few battles whether they will get shields. As always, I would really love to hear any comments tips or suggestions. Peace! Please note the minor customization of the banner pole. Oh, and each scabbard has the title of a different Grateful Dead song written on it in Tolkein's Quenya elven alphabet! Now wait til you see my chariot!

Awesome! Let me make just one suggestion, to cap off the unit AND give you one more painting challenge. It would make the unit look much much better if you went over the banner and re-painted the design instead of relying on a printed image. I'd also recommend sizing the crossbar to fit the banner itself. Looks like it's shrunk in the wash as it is. The tie-die is fantastic. I can't wait to see the rest of the army.
