I was immediately fascinated when I'd heard & read of this creature. Considering the Lawful Evil allignment of the Displacer Beast, the sculpt of its stance does appear ironically tame; probably either sitting out of its den for some fresh air, or looking for some unfortunate prey. If you ever spot one as an AD&D adventurer, expect at least another, because they hunt in packs...hehe. I choose to paint him (or her) in concordance from this reference picture from the AD&D Monstrous Manual. A simple color scheme, yes, yet simple can look good too.
