ape gladiator

I actually got my hands on this piece as a part of the first Visions in Putty show on 1listsculpting. It's sculpted by Jason Wiebe, one of my favorite sculptors, and has since gone into production as a Reaper miniature. The skin started with a mix of chestnut and a not-too-bright purple. I mixed a bit of that into the fur to make everything tie together a little better. The green loincloth is sort of a counterpoint to all the other warm colors, and contrasts with the red trim (and innards. . .) of the remains of the human gladiator. I wanted the human to look a bit dried out, so I mixed some grays into the flesh tones. More details are available in my Mini-A-Week gallery, week 4.
