Phaenix

Hi Everyone! After a many-year hiatus, I'm back and spinning with a bunch of new stuff, sculpted, painted, converted et al. Phaenix was converted and painted for my hobby store, as it's signature miniature. I used the Imperial Fists' special character Captain Lysander, Wood Elf Great Hawk wings, a metal terminator left arm (from the cyclone missile launcher figurine), brass wire and Green Stuff. The flame on the left arm and the sword in the right hand are custom made: the sword is purposefully simplistic.

great render on the feather but not so lucky with the armor. looks better than a footsoldier tabletop but not nearly as good as a commander average tabletop should be, most people paint a basic footsoldier with more care. the model dynamic and conversion is definitely good. the wings looks good, i would say dont touch them until the rest of the model looks as good as them. the cloack deserves a more realistic tone and some shading nothing is ever white, ffs wear a bleached white coat for a week and see the color, imagine that after years of battle seasoned fighters have seasoned equipment . the armor has to be redone from scratch yellow is a difficult color that needs very flat coating and very good quality paint gw yellow is usually of very poor quality, thick and transparent go for another brand yellows. the the shading should be more subtle and the paint needs to look a little neautral not bright irrealistic yellow highlighted by blazing orange. your metal work is okay for table tob and the tassels are good as well. on the overall job, try to paint more acurately and with softer tones you need to use white to highlight your mini because the base color are already very bright, this gives the model the look it would have under a hundred flashes or under the light of a nuke explosion, in one word overexposed.
