TAU XV84 Battlesuit

Hi all This is my first mini posted on the site, so be gentle :-) I've just got back into painting after a fifteen year gap... looking to improve as fast as possible and have a stab at the UK Golden Demon later this year in as many categories as possible. This Forgeworld XV-84 is my third mini since getting back into things. Took approx 28 - 30hrs inc modelling the base details, adding extra plasticard detail to the guns (such as the ejection port with ejecting shells on the minigun) etc. Honest and constructive feedback appreciated. Ben

This is a lovely model, well painted with great colour scheme. I like the base as well as it looks very different to any i've seen before and i'm a big bases fan, as its an easy way to make models unique. If your looking for golden demon advice though i would say that the scheme/model aren't challenging enough. Thats not to take away from the awesomeness of the model but nowadays the top GD entries are very complex in both paint job and conversion. Anyways AWESOME JOB would love to see an army painted in this scheme. What is the main colour?

I agree with the others, this is a great paintjob. The colour choices make for a very sinister, yet hightech feel and work very well together. I also love the way you posed the model, it is a kind of 'natural' pose (in a fictional way), and with XV8 suits, that is rather rare (I often wince when I see some of the poses people assemble these guys in). Minor, paintjob-unrelated criticism: burst cannon ammunition doesn´t have shells, it is completely consumed in the firing. I give you a 9 for this mini (I reserve the 10 for those which make my heart stop for at least 3 seconds), and I wish you good luck at the GD. :)
