Autumnal Lathiem

Hi folks... This is my stab at Enigma's beautiful 'Lathiem'. This really is one of the finest metal miniatures I've ever had the pleasure to paint, the detail is so subtle and so fine it really is a challenge to do the sculpt justice. I painted this guy up for the Salute painting comp... I was told by the judges he was just pipped to second place... but considering the standard of the competition that was a real compliment. This is probably the most muted and subtle mini paintscheme I've ever attempted, I tried to give him an earthy, autumnal feel. The base slate rocks are sculpted from Supersculpey, the tree is real, the oak leaves are paper, the ferns are brass etch. Apologies if the colour/brightness is off on the pics, my monitor is due to be replaced very soon! :-) Constructive feedback always appreciated! Ben

Cheers all for the kind words... I have a new monitor on it's way...(my current one is over 10 years old!)... I'm gonna re-shoot and re-post all my stuff once it's up and running. Cheers all Ben

Saw this on the day next to my entry, Frodo. It looks better in the flesh than it does in this picture. Love it....Keep up the good work!
