Your most insane projects

Am I the only one who usually thinks of starting and even finishing modelling and painting projects which are so far beyond any sane person as mustard is beyond banana split?

In progress:
Tzeentch Chaos Warriors completely converted from the plastic sprue...
repositioning heads, resculpting torsoes, converting helmets, repositioning arms, covering gaps with sculpted scales (about 1mm diameter each), sculpting fur, remodelling weapons....
I\'ve 4 half-finished warriors and one nearly completed... and I probably spend more than 5 hours (I think) working on this one all in all... it just got more and more.... \"oh, there\'s a gap. hmm. ah! let\'s sculpt some scales\".
And I was even thinking of having an army of these one day! lol

To be started next weekend:
My Cygnarian force for Warmachine - already converted it a bit (couldn\'t resist giving Stryker a similar haircut to mine... meaning: I cut his hair off and had to resculpt his bare skull)... but now it comes: of course in NMM.... although I don\'t really have any experience on that field! lol

What are your most insane projects or am I really the only one being a victim of megalomania? :p

Have a nice day,
Tobi

I have an insane project somewhere on a shelf. I\'m sure it\'s not a bad idea though...
I found Maleus Darkblade good loocking, but being on a cold one just sucks, so I was looking for a better transportation system... which is a tyranid red terror :bouncy: !!

It\'s barely started, I just realized that I don\'t like painting huge minis... which is quite a handicap for a red terror... But I am confident in the end of this project... someday... if I\'m not already dead

Insane ambitions/projects...?

hehehe...I have been working for a long time to try and collect every early Citadel/GW/Rogue Trader etc space marine and convert/paint them up into a veteran, wrinkly army of Blood Angels (painted in RED!!!).

My other insane ambition is to be able to paint as well my personal painting hero, sivousplay.

I will complete plan A, long before plan B:D

Converting a Chaos Spawn entirely from bitz. No actuall spawn bitz.

Actually I think my oddest ones where my 4 battle wagons!!! Only one of which is made from actuall plastic parts. #1 was made from a WW2 battletank and about 2 GW battlefeild accessories sprues. #2 is a bohemoth. It\'s the same size as #1: taller than a Landraider and about the length of two of them. It\'s mostly made from foamboard and cardboard but with chopped up sprues for railings. #3 is a bit smaller one (only Landraider size), that I made for my idea of choas ork speed freaks. The body is foamboard, the 2 back wheels are old mortorized monster monster truck wheels, and the front krusher is made entirly of tank traps. The turret is a killa kan body, surrounded by spiked semi circles from the Chaos vehicle sprue, with a junk tube (meaning that I don\'t know what the heck it is) on the front as a kannon. They are my babies and #4 may be on it\'s way soon.

There was a time...

when I would convert everything i could get my grubby hands on. Many of the project I did then were either stupid, incomplete, or unbeleivably ugly. My friend Graham still taunts me with them when he comes over. these days I\'m cannibalizing what I can from them to make use of the pieces. Some stuff however, is lost forever.

Be sure to post the beast when its completed ay!
Thats something I would truely like to see!

My most mind boggleing project would have to be the Warhammer *Circus* Orc and Goblin army I had planned.
Trapeze doom diver
Goblin launching cannon
Giant: Strong man with dumbells
Chariots clown cars
BIG UNs: various freaks(Lobster boy* No not Dennis*, bearded lady, geek, blockhead, etc, etc)

The biggest problem was the more I thought about it the more complex it became.
*~Sigh~*
One day I will complete it!

insane project??

Here is my insane plan to get a new hobby room...

First, convince wife we need new kitchen. Really go to town with new cabinets and countertops and appliances.

Second, after said kitchen plan is well underway, (and almost finished) tell said wife that \"there doesn\'t seem to be proper room for a dining table now\" and convince her that we need to build an addition to the house.

Third, Tell said wife that said Dining Room Addition only makes sense if it is right by the kitchen (which is on the second story) and convice said wife that the addition should be two full stories tall.

Fourth, casually mention, \"heck I might as well make that lower room a hobby room\"

Ah, I love it when a plan comes together. Worked like a charm!!lollollollol

I am dreaming of a 4ftx8ft battle ground.
It will be a mammoth undertaking. It will have hills and forests and cliffs with two full armies, one of orcs and goblins the other of empire. There will be thousands of figures in the midst of a huge battle. Warriors clashing head on in bloody fury the flash and crack of handguns the boom of cannons cutting swathes through blue faced savages orcs and the mighty WAAAAAAAAAAGHHH! of hordes of orcboys screaming as they charge, the valiant charges of the empires finest knights smashing into the flanks of goblins causing chaos and mayhem. Giants wading through halberdiers grinding them into the bloody dirt under their probably very smelly feet, doomdivers screaming into swordsmen splattering them to pulp squigs chomping up fleeing free company and goblin shamens heads popping with the over load of the the waagh and the foot of gork descending from the skies.

But as I havent even finished my first goblin shaman after 4 months this may take me a while and whilst the advance of longevity technology is picking up speed I am not sure it will give me enough time.
Alas it may be pie in the sky.

(mmmmm pie)

insane?

I don\'t need anything insane. I have way too many unpainted mini\'s and have a lot of work to do on improving my painting skills. That\'s at least a couple of years work even if I become quite industrious. Seriously!:wow:

If by insane project, you mean:
Finishing that Space Hulk gaming table while completing my Games Day entries (4) due to the 25th April and finishing that damn Kasrkin squad by next Wednesday and finishing to sculpt a deamon prince before new year\'s day
Yes, I have some! lol

Well, I suppose some of the most insane projects I\'ve done would be:

1. converting a barbie doll into a weretigress by amputating her legs, trepanning her skull and resculpting her with milliput.

2. Scratchbuilding a dragon out of sculpey (the treasure dragon in my gallery).

3. The dragon battle for last years golden demon

4. Using real fossilised sharks teeth on Hy\'Li\'Spy\'Qui.

5. Drilling tiny holes in harpy wings to crate my pitch black kroothounds (In my Gallery).

Regards

Kat

Drilling tiny holes will be a soon to come activity for me, too. After messing up a bolter with my 1mm drill I bought 0,5 mm drills yesterday - those are quite expensive! And I suppose they\'ll become blunt very quickly, too! I\'ll only try drilling such fine stuff on days when my blood pressure level is very low. lol

Have a nice day,
Tobi

Do you already have an idea about which model you want to work with?
Or just a general idea, e.g. let\'s make a 40k champion of nurgle?

I\'ve started my Warmachine NMM project yesterday... and I\'ve a wip thread in the painting forum... but nobody seems to be interested... must have done something extraordinarily wrong. ???

Have a nice day,
Tobi

eek! you stole my idea! And I thought it was so orginal this time :p
I always love doing the nurgle champions, but they\'s been done so many times it\'s hard to come up with something new.
