your favorit mini to paint?

I enjoy painting anything I have converted more. Anything I have sculpted completely is even easier to get motivated to do. Finishing off things that you have already put a lot of work into with a lick of paint is a rewarding and motivational process I find.

As for standard minis, lots of flowing robes and clothing always makes things easier, but there isn\'t one in particular model I can pick out as being a real pleasure.

Stuff that was a struggle, now that\'s another story!

Detailed, original models really get me motivated to paint. The witch hunter I am painting at the moment is a great sculpt and even though there is a lot left to paint, I don\'t feel bored.

ice witch from crocodile games. this mini was so fun when i did it for a commission that i ended up buying one for myself. i\'ve done it 3 times now and its still just a blast to paint. why? well the sculpt and robes are just great and leave a lot for the painter to elaborate on. the legs on the mini are also incredibly well done as well. they were done by chris fitzpatrick and he does some amazing stuff. although i have to say i dont like his dark eldar but his age of aeygyptus is great.

Pretty much anything by Werner. Especially his dwarves and elves.

I\'m working on his 54mm Monique DuNoir at the moment, and it\'s probably the nicest sculpt I\'ve ever put a brush to.

The concubine mini from Hasslefree. Actually most of Kev\'s sculpts are a pure joy to paint, but this one is my favourite so far.

Also, Steve Buddle\'s Mad Hatter for Wyrd Miniatures was a blast. Oh, and Paul Muller\'s Gravedigger, also for Wyrd, which reminds me I need to post that here.

the mini ive most enjoyed painting is probably the demon princ of nurgle that was released for the medusa campaign...the model was fantastic and an absolute joy to paint...as a secondary choice id probably go for the warrior piest i hav just done...simple model but was great to paint.

I just finished Kelian Durak from the Cadwallon line and I have to say it was extremely pleasant to paint. Nice clean lines, good sculpt- a joy!

My internet was down last night and I managed to paint about 80% of Hasslefree\'s 40mm Artemis, absolutely fantastic model, i may just order another one.

Why does that surprise you? :] Considering the amount of mediocre, and even crappy, sculpts GW put out nowadays, I mean. Sure, there\'s plenty of OK minis in their ranges, but there\'s an ever growing lot of talented sculptors out there that makes much, much cooler minis. Kev White, Raul Latorre, Jaques-Alexandre Gillois, Thomas David, Allan Carasco, Felix Paniagua, Edgar Ramos, Joaquin Palacios, Werner Klocke, Paul Muller... and the list goes on.

Can\'t remember. I can tell you the worst, the forgeworld titan techmarine, gorgeous model, but a pain to clean up (wasn\'t a great cast) and for some reason a total pain to paint, even worse, it doesn\'t even look very good and some b*tard painted an awesome looking one recently :cussing:

Oh, I remember, the GW gobbo jester from one of their campaign packs, I enjoyed painting that.

I don\'t do a lot of GW stuff, but plastic space marines are fun because they are easy to convert and have lots of open space for freehand.

Here\'s some stuff I\'ve got in my WIP shelf (I have actually almost finished them but don\'t have pics)
and the bottom pic I did as a pre/post CMON comparison.

My favorite to paint was the Hula Dancer by Crunch-Waffle. So much so that I EBay\'d my first one so I\'d have an excuse to buy more of the same (which I did).

It\'s hard to say about a favorite GW mini. As was mentioned most of what they make nowadays is horribly mediocre in spite of all their self promotion to the level of sculpting gods. That being said I do own a heck of a lot of GW minis.

@vincegamer: I really like the yellow on the marine with the hand flamer.
