Ok, started the first 2 glade guard yesterday and decided black cloaks look rubbiah so did them brown. I need to get a few browns before I can do any different colours.

I think the cloaks are a good start but need another shade, a glaze and a rehighlight.

The skin will be done again later on.

The brown on tehe main bpody I\'m pleased with and I don\'t thing needs changing.

The bows are still WIP. I think they\'re coming along nicely, but I\'m sorta sttuck of what to dow ith them. They don\'t look finished but I don\'t know what to do with them to make them finished.

Ok, the pics:

add bleach bone (pale sand vmc) to the last highlight colour.
do this a couple of times and it will make the highlights pop out in a big but natural way.

where the light will cause hot spots, do a couple of thin carefully placed white glazes.

hope this helps.

I wouldn\'t go any higher on the cloak than you have now... but I would make the shade a bit less harsh, it seems a bit too dark to me.

It looks good so far, that is for sure. Keep the green colours, your gonna add (I recon ?) dark to stay on theme..

Once you do the quiver the cloaks will pop. I would darken the bows in the middle to accentuate the light color of them

Your minis are looking great so far, good luck with the commission, and make sure you have got rid of the mould lines.
Will the hood be painted with a similar colour?

The hood will be a dark brown yes.

Mouldlines I have nothing to do with... they were sprayed and made when i got them... nothing I could do.

Thanks,

Matt.

Sorry to point this out, but yes you can. Making your customer appreciate the painting you do will involve correcting little hiccups like this. A few minutes work with Knife edge and fine sandpaper will improve the figure, and priming can be hand painted, especially using Black mixed with a little Black ink.

I would say that Generulpolaxe\'s suggestions are about right. One suggestion I would make is to add a little Red to the Brown to make varying autumnal shades.

I have asked the client and he says it dosen\'t matter if I don\'t clean them up.

He aggress they were badly made and sprayed and also he didnt pay to make them, that includes mouldlines.

Thanks,

Matt.
