6 Replies and here\'s the first opinion on the stance... :drunk:

It\'s quite lifelike, so since it\'s a dreadnought I don\'t care for it much myself. It\'s a nice pose for an infantry figure but a bit to characterful for a machine (even one powered by spirit). That however is my opinion only and others (perhaps many others) might have a contrary one. I wouldn\'t mark down a good paint job because of the pose however, it\'s not bad in that way.

I prefer my machines to be a bit more machine-like. Hope you keep us posted on the progress however, I\'d like to see how it turns out.

thanks for being honest firstly i got an image of an autarchs spirit inhabbiting the dreadnought so i wanted to make the flamers look like mandiblasters! i have started to highlight the model but you have to be carefull with black too much it will look grey not enough there is no blend to the highlight. The plan is to use some of the cris cross designs on the shoulder guard and head so i can run the theme through the army i have included a link to a progress picture however quality isnt excellent

On another note does anyone know how i put the picture on screen instead of a link? I have tried the insert image tab but it didnt work however note the sharpest tool in the shed :bouncy:

lol dr evilmonki didnt see it like that but still wave bye bye just before he splats someone with the swordlol

from front on though the pose looks similar to some of the new harliquin models.

Does anyone else think it looks like he is waving because i can change the hand to a fist.

Thanks for the comments.

Let\'s see if this works...

I have to admit that I\'m not sure about the left arm/hand - it does seem somewhat out of place but as MPJ said, I wouldn\'t mark it down once painted because of that.

I wouldn\'t say it looks like it\'s waving, the arm is to far back for that. Looks like it\'s beconing the troops behind him forward to attack (this is what I was poorly referring to in my last post when I called it \'lifelike\').

If it\'s not to late I\'d cut it at the elbow and turn the forearm and hand 180 degrees so it was down and forward.

Really though if your vision of an Eldar Dreadnought keeps the life force in the gem strong then the Dreadnought is likely to have many lifelike characteristics and it may indeed becon the troops forward. In that case then the post is perfectly fine, I just like them a bit more mechanical.

I see it as a classic duellist pose - sword extended to the front and left arm providing poise and balance. Not sure how well this fits the whole giant robot theme but I reckon it will still look good painted. :D

My first reaction was that the position of the non-sword arm looked wrong. So I agree with the others.
Instead of cutting and moving the elbow, why not do it at the shoulder, you should get more purchase on a pin.
The pose may look too dynamic for a robot, but then again why should robots not be built with the same range of movements?

Having said all that it is looking good.

thanks for the comments people it really helps knowing you havn\'t ruined a fantastic model:)

the pose was to look like the clasic sword fighting pose with the legs leaned forward into the lunge (i think that explains it
???) i also droped the torso last night and the arm and waving hand came off :bouncy: so going to fix the arm downwards with a closed fist

I always strugle when starting a new army, and after deciding on ulthwe i read the new eldar codex decided on yme-loc instead :duh:

But thanks for the comments will post a new torso pic when its stuck together (again)

In the mean time here are some legs
lol(they need tidying up though )

Thanks to torn blue sky also lol
