So I have begun to paint again, and while I've just started posting on the forums here, I've browsed through this for quite some time. I've decided to start a WIP project thread for my WHFB Ogre Army, to keep myself motivated and roughly on some kind of schedule to get the whole thing painted.
Unfortunately, I've been that guy in my gaming group who paints a figure here and there, but never has had a complete Army painted to play with, I want to change that. Especially so, due to our recent discovery of Zombie Planet in Albany, NY; it has many, many tables for us to use accompanied by hundreds of fully painted terrain pieces. Too good to pass up, and positively shameful to use their facilities with a shambling plastic horde.
The idea is to have a fully painted Army that is is bit different than my brethren's, *wince* dipped Chaos Warriors and Skaven host. Now dont get me wrong, dipping has its...erm, place... But to have a whole army painted by brush is my goal.
The first deadline will be One Month from now, the goal: Gorger, Tyrant and 15 Bulls painted. This morning I finished a set of trousers on an ogre bull, for some unknown reason I've chosen Yellow as my main color.
Ignore the skin, boots etc, at the moment its the pants that are just about finished, and hopefully ill be able to complete my test model today and get a full mini on here.
I know the lighting/picture quality is poor, but i was finally able to achieve decent blending with yellow paints, a first for me. Turns out complementary colors are pretty useful. There is shading in-between the legs, but the wonderful incandescent lightbulb I have at my desk shadowed it out, as well as giving an even yellower tone to the golden pants.
Ill be using my fluorescent paint lamp to take photos in the future.
